Cancel Rent?

I’ve had dozens of conversations this week with people who have not been lost any income and won’t because they are either retired on SS or collecting disability, yet demanding to not be charged rent. We are running out of time in the day to deal with the people who actually need help because of all the losers who heard “free rent.” Same losers who stop paying their rent three months before tax season.
I will definitely agree with you on this...its a fucking minefield to traverse for everyone, but these fucking leeches who decide not to pay because they simply do not want to, that hurts everyone.

I just wish it was done in a quiet way, bankers working with us to make sure that we could delay payments in order to help the people who need it. Instead the fcking politicians get on TV and want to play Hero and announce "NO EVICTIONS, DON'T PAY RENT." in my state she happens to be a democrat same as me, but it's not about that. There is going to be so much waste and abuse. sharks are swarming.

Agreed..same will happen here in Canada. But we can't lose our compassion for those who truly need it. History has shown us...humans just suck...but I'm hopeful.

What I said is you picked a bad time to be full of hubris.

You haven't given anything away.

like I said. Hubris.
This week alone I forgave $3,000 to one tenant, she is a nut job and the biggest pain in my ass, and she has a 12 year old son who deserves more. Thats on out of thousands of tenants. I also have a non-profit homeless shelter that houses 6 families. I don't call it "giving away," though, it's an investment in my community. Again, people hate developers and landlords even though we do the work of housing people and helping them. We're used to it because most people are idiots but this week has been another reminder of the lack of respect we get. Again why single us out? Why not free groceries, utilities and internet? Or can people not pay their rent with their government checks?

Whatever you say is your own story, made up through your ego-fueled belief in your righteousness and so not worth reading.

I'm simply saying that your posts are full of hubris.

I see and understand and think I support what you are saying...all aspects need to have a little give right now. Ontario reduced its power rate charge for all last week. That will help people big time.

Honestly I think some people like yourself have a need that I don't understand, to see people in certain ways. Knock yourself out buddy, I know I do more for my fellow man than you could ever hope to or very likely willing to.

Watch out for free blankets!! Lord Jeffery Amherst founder of the town of the same name and I believe a university is legendary for giving the cold and hungry native americans small pox infected blankets. It working like a charm. What would trump infect his donated blankets with?
I'm afraid greed is one of the few things that cuts across parties lines. What's interesting is listening to people justify their taking advantage of the system by saying they are somehow owned something.
Canceling rent sounds great but does that mean the government and banks are going to be that nice to the property owner when he cant pay his mortgage.
I would support a living wage but how much is that and who is going to pay for it. Maybe one less Trident would do it. Here in Massachusetts we've got the third highest minimum wage in the country at $13.00 an hour. That works out to be about $400 take. home. I cant imagine. I buy $200.00 a week in junk food.
One problem is that many who abuse to system stand out like sore thumbs and thats what people see. Those who use but dont abuse or are just smart fly under the radar.

In life I mean from those around me that know me. Hard for you to get? Just like people think lawyers are bad. People think developers kill habitats and only care about money. People are idiots
