Coco Growers Unite!

I haven't been in this thread/area in a minute, anybody use H&G line up in coco?

after comparing prices, it makes more sense why so many people use the Canna line...
So, Coco A+B, Rhizo, Cannazym, Boost Accel, PK13/14, ... what else do I need? I'm starting from absolute scratch.
(PPM & PH tester/s are already in the mail)

That's all u need... Both companies work well in coco and are similar products.

Question to the coco gurus here

how many of you flush to remove salt build up during veg or bloom?
Would also like to know your method of how you go about it to.

Feed, Feed, Water. Then we just feed water the last 10 days. Never any need for an actual "flush".

Ok i understand feed feed water but my setup is automated and a res lasts a week!

so im thinking at the end of every week running a good amount of water through
before the res change.

im hoping that will slow the salt buildup im geting and not effect the plants over all health

You should be feeding with every watering when growing in coco coir... Use a min of 0.6 ec in order to keep a consistant buffer.
Only flush if u have overfeed (even then u should use a very low strength nutrient solution for flushing) or if it is your final flush before harvest and u don't plan to reuse the coco.

Yup that's how I do it to.
Feed every time up tell harvest day no flush

well i hand water for now, so build up is easy to deal with. couldnt you just water a little more so you get more run off?

Allowing 10-15% runoff , combined with the ability to water/feed frequently should keep your root environment healthy and no additional steps should be needed.

i have broken it up, washed it outside in a 7g smart pot, and used cannazym to get rid of the roots, but even then i have found that the second run destroys its consistency. i till mine into raised beds outside now.
i might have phrased that wrong, cannazym doesnt like magically destroy roots instantly, but it does break them down in auch a way that having a bunch of dead roots in your medium won't turn it into an unhealthy nightmare.

Yes you can reuse it I have with great results. I just pulled what I could of the old roots out.

Would running a higher ratio of cannazym be beneficial for reused coco? since it's main purpose is degrading dead/old roots?

That would be so nice . trying to get this optomized. Also what are my risks of overwatering.. I am using cocopalms with 10% perlite but top 1/2 inch - inch is 100% coco palms. Plants are only a week should i be watering with runoff everyday or am i risking mold etc. thanks
