Could someone with some expierence help me with my sick plants

I have a few plants out of my outdoor garden that are having some problems. Some of the bottom leaves are dying and turning yellow (pictures included). It might be a ph or nitrogen problem but I need to make sure so I can fix it asap. There is 3 plants out of my grow. All plants are in a mixture of ocean forest/happy frog/organic soil from lowes. Being fed with roots organic line. Each pic is of one of the three plants so they might not all have the same problem. Any help I would seriously be thankful for.

I'm no expert, but with the fact that your garden is outdoors, Im going to def chalk that up to pests. I have two growing outdoors now and I am having very similar problems but not as severe. Im not as worried about the yellowing as I am with the mottled brown spotting and chewed up leaves. Definitely points to pests. I cant specify which of the bugs are causing you problems but I have been treating mine with Azamax, mosquito dunks and an organic pesticide made by Down to Earth that I got from home depot. It has been keeping my problem controlled for the most part.

Thanks for the reply. I have had a huge problem with grasshoppers this year that I finally got controlled so I hope this not not another pest problem. I'll have to examine for bugs on the leaves closely

No problem. From what I have learned, ph is a very unlikely suspect unless you are growing hydroponics are you're just nuking your soil grown plants with tons of liquid nutes. If I may ask, how old are your plants? how long in the current soil? what size container?

I'm using 7 and 10 gallon fabric pots. I started them early so there about 3 months old now and pretty big so far. Most are doing very well except these three. I tried adding lime and calmag thinking this might be the problem but still has not gotten better.

I'm also using only distilled water with recharged by growmoore every other watering

I thought I read on here somewhere not to use distilled water because it doesn't have any of the natural nutrients that regular water has. It is stripped of all of the essentials. Not 100% sure but may be your problem.

Thanks. I started using distilled because of all the beneficial bacteria and organisms that I use. The tap water I have has high levels of chlorine that kills them. I'll do some research on the negatives effects of using distilled

A) Distilled water has no dissolved O2 in it nor any elements or minerals

B) Chlorine is one of the 16 elements plants use

Really. So if I started using my tap water would this harm the beneficial bacteria from the product recharged and organisms XL. That's the whole reason I started using distilled. Also not sure on this but is distilled water different than water from an osmosis system.

Mabey I should try just letting my tap water sit out for a few days in the sun and use it like that

The thing I'm worried about is the chlorine killing my bacteria and organisms. I have had many people tell me that the chlorine will kill them so it would just be a waste. I'm not even sure that this is the reason for the yellow leaves on three of my plants. I have many more and they are all green and healthy

Letting chlorine evaporate from tap water is another forum myth.

These are lab results from different samples of soil using tap from the faucet, garden hose, and letting sit out to evap.

I do know that if using distilled or RO water you're meant to use calmag to replace everything that's been stripped from the water and is needed by the plants. Hope these are some help:

The water wont hurt your plants as long as the city deems it drinkable. I would suggest watering in the evening on days with heavy sunshine so the water droplets wont allow the sun to burn your leaves. Sounds like you have plenty of room in your containers. Im still leaning toward pests. Some you cant see on the leaves. may be soil-borne. That's why I suggest an Azamax drench with some crushed up mosquito dunks in the water along with it. It will put some serious brakes on probably 99% of the pests that would be living in your soil. And pay attention to the new growth and as long as your problem stops spreading, then you've got it under control. The damaged leaves wont repair themselves
