Not to thread hijack or anything but I am considering a 4 light kit. Timber looks awesome and Dan seems great.

I am considering this 4 COB Timber kit and putting it on a Light Rail 3.5 kit with a 1000 watt HPS for about a 10 x 14 room with 6 to 8 big girls in flower. Eventually phase out the HPS and have two Timber 4 light COB kits on the light rail robot track

Has anyone tried them on a light rail in a bigger room? Please keep posting pics too.

@sixstring2112 I'm sure the lack of anodization will have almost no impact in practice, other than the aluminum could oxidize slightly after many years. I wouldn't worry about it, personally.

@Colo MMJ I don't think that's a thread hijack - seems perfectly on point. :) Light rails will work, definitely. I think the only person doing it right now is @Growmau5 (see his youtube videos), but he's not using Timber kits - his are all DIY.

Looks like @RainDan has stocked up all of his Timber COB kits for the long weekend - still with free shipping, so they're the lowest cost option for COB kits. Get 'em while they're hot! :)

What a beast setup. Looks like 16 COBs. May I ask how long the track is and how big is the room? How many HPS did that replace?

Also what light rail track you are using? Is it reliable? Great job. Really nice.
16 cxb 3590. Or 4 of dans 4 cxb 200w kits

They cover a 5 foot by 5 foot area with 800ppfd. So.... It's the footprint of a 1000 watt but has even coverage.

According to my PPFD I don't have the DLI to flower in the 10x5 room with the light mover 5.0. I'm sure I could but that's more plants than what's legal for me. The track is just to keep the lights moving so they'll only move about 12". Should help with heatspots under the Stella HB lenses that are on the perimeter.

So it's not anodized? Did you opt for that?
Hello,

Just a point of clarification - the aluminum colored heat sinks you have been seeing in some photos are clear anodized. The anodizing is important in heat dissipation - and will also withstand the environment better without rusting.

We exhausted all of Cooliance's black anodized heat sinks domestic stock - these were special ordered for a different customer in clear anodizing for aesthetic reasons, so we picked these up as well.

Any questions, please let me know.

Have a good day - and a safe holiday weekend.

Regards,
Dan

Why would I buy a kit from Timber versus just buying all the parts myself? It seems counter intuitive that a cost oriented DIY'er should ever order from Timber. Can someone enlighten me to the contrary?
