DIY LED light strips. Which is best?

Nothing like being able to put the needed density into a small area when needed. I have one rig with 4 strips on, but it is an unyielding large beast of a thing.
The 3 strips units put down just about the same amount of light minus about the output of a 20W CFL bulb.

When you look at the pattern on the wall, you can see how serious those three strip units are.
I like your setups. I'm debating on swapping out my 660w rig with the 6 sunboards and 12 fb562b's 560mm out with some 1120mm ones. I have the 560nm length ones turned cross ways. The short way. But I feel like using more strips run softer I'd get better yield than with say 5 or 6 1120mm length ones turn long ways. But maybe not.
 
This site is lagging really bad for me today, you can purchase cutter strips from Cutter electronics.
I think they are very good value for money, I would need to test the other strips to let you know how they perform exactly.
If you give your grow area dimensions I will possibly be able to do a room set up simulation using cutter strips if I can log on later.
Could you help me. It's almost summer here in nyc and I want to build something phenomenal using strips or qb. My range is 800 dollars for a 4x4 x6

Is that from datasheet or per test. @TEKNIK did some test on the crees and they were about 2.5 or so. Theres a thread around.
The 30 watts, 700ma and 191 lm/watt is from their site.
The 2.8 umols/J is from a conversion factor using QER and LER. (191 * .015 = 2.865)
So it's not exact, but close.
*If you find the thread, please share it, and check out the Cutter link and see if the numbers look legit.

Buddy, ive seen you post in the cutter cree cree strip test thread, you just have to look back to the first pages.

Yes, I saw Teknik's 1-page summary on the test he did, but I think that was a different strip.
The strip in question has 112 JB3030's on it in 3500K/80CRI.
Cutter SSK-1560-35CR
So even at test current of 65ma the Cree spec sheet says 181 lm/watt.
That is the JB3030 at 3500K, 80CRI, 33lm, .065A, 2.8V typical for .182W per diode for 181 lm/watt!

And Cutter says at 30 watts for the strip, or .27 watts per LED they get 191 lm/watt.
I'll email them and ask how they came up with their lm/watt numbers.

Like everyone else they probably go off the data sheet, Cutter are happy for me to conduct independent testing and that's the only way to know for sure how something works in real life. I need to do more tests of other brands. I was at cutter today having a talk with Mark, Cree is going to be releasing some very good products this year, I was pretty surprised by some of the sneak peak data, they are going to put osram to shame with the new 660nm.

As mentioned by Whytewidow, your Viso tests were on the 3500K/70CRI strips (might be time for a new set of glasses for me). The 2.59 umols/J is quite impressive for $10ish USDs, and from a real-world test. I have looked at the JB3030 data sheets. Any ideas how there is such a disparity between the performance on their web site and your actual tests?
