Yea, you really have to check the spec/datasheet for every model driver you're considering. There are differences within the same "line" or "power output" or "type" that one wouldn't expect, if they just assumed.

Diablo concerns solved. Spoke with HLG rep today and found out about the new diodes.

The new diodes are all the same pale yellow color on the boards. There should be no different colors other than the reds.

The product manuals were not ready yet so they sent the old ones with the new lights. Getting a new manual sent out.

The boxes are all stock boxes that have been around for a while which explains the dirt and grime.

Other than me telling 2com to go fuck himself everything worked out fine :cool:

Just for final confirmation here is the reply I got:

We have been shipping the Scorpion Diablo with the new diodes 100% since August 1st. No older boards have been shipped since that date and actually a bit sooner than the announcement. As for the manuals, we just got the new manuals back from printing less than two weeks ago, and it is now shipping with the product. We ended up making some inserts to go in the boxes, but that only happened right before the manuals arrived, so there were some that shipped out with the old manual, but it was the correct light. If the light was ordered since Aug 1st, it is a new build with the correct Advanced Diodes. Period! Any lights that were pre Advanced Didoes have been set aside and were not shipped to anyone.

I just now talked to the production manager, and he has confirmed the above as well.

Is there a way someone could visually check something on the board (the printing, the diodes, a ref. code) to know "for sure". I'm only asking because that might be the next question.

I know this is the DIY thread but I hope that by posting here we pick up some interest again. So if anyone has an HLG light and or grow they'd like to post pics of, please do!
