How many watts will I be getting running 2 qb288 on a HLG-320H-C2100B driver? I assume it's around 160w per board if I don't dim. Max for the board shows 150w, but I know they can probably take a bit more. I'm a little worried I'll end up ruining something if I don't dim things down just a little.

I buy 14 gauge, 20ft extension cords from dollar general for $7.00. Buy a spare plug and make 2, ten foot cords for less than $10.00

Where do you guys get your power cords (other than HLG)? I need some for new installations, and for some reason Amazon only shows me US$10+ prices for 12 AWG cables.

12 gauge is overkill for even 2 drivers wired to one cord. 14 gauge will work just fine, a 600 watt load is less than have the wire's capacity. No need to add all that heavy wire. most home wiring is only 14 gauge on most 115 circuits.

3-5 bucks will get you smaller awg wires but they cannot carry heavy/constant loads. 8-12 bucks for 14-12 awg cord, go 12 awg. You can buy cable and put your own plugs on them for a good price, but you pay for a lot of cable that you are not going to use right away. Super nice to be able to put any plug on a cable and go though

you really will want to be able to dimm, unless you have a lot of height... wiring a pot is easy, just takes a bit of practice on soldering. you could probably even use female, crimp on spade connectors on the wire and clip them onto the pot's lugs.

Anybody had drooping from light stress from these quantum’s? Recently put veg plants into flower tent still on veg time and they have been droopy ever since. Got 520w QB but they are quite high up above and even have 2 week old seedlings in there with it and they are fine.

What kind of light were the plants under before you moved them from veg?

Looks like the warm weather came back this week .....

So an update for those wondering how Quantums fair during warm weather....
I personally don't use AC at all ( but that is due my grow space needs ) ... For those that power their rooms like the sun then that will bee something to look at. I like growing simple - no humidifiers , space heaters , dehumidifier or excessive CFM fans .

However ... Your mileage will vary based on YOUR situation....
One grow is " open space " room , others are tents . One tent is still not put back up yet , 42x30x72 .... It was one of the first I bought back some years ago and has started to show bad pinholes that was getting worse over time. So that may get shit canned.

So .... Any recommendations on tents ..... Mucho welcome.

Anyways my Quantums are pretty happy with oscillating air only ...
They run close to ambient air temps even on 18 hour runs. I have clip fans available if I want to run over boards - but they are just warm to touch and not that uncomfortable to touch. One rig is running cobs also - and that is where the heat comes from ( pin radiator heatsinks ) .... But STILL manageable.

Last two days - about 80-82° ( full 18 hour - mid day temp ) - RH has been low but plants are happy. For me 77- 84° is the sweet spot for my indoor girls. Last week indoors was low 60° and the dreaded purp stem set in - slowing the phosphorus uptake ( small brown spot ) ..... So I scratched in some bone meal and blood meal ( for more green ) and they smiled back at me.
Even with 400 ppm tap water ... I still am able to keep it " relatively " balanced.

The airpots need constant watering as they drink up quickly - every other day.

So the 3x3 is pulling the " bullpen " duty for a bit. White Dwarf has pushed into flower and will get some BLOOM Nutes in a week or so. Dwarfy isn't really what tend to grow but it was a freebie and why waste the bean ?

Blue Dream is looking well and will get some CS on her later. ( beats buying more beans .. Lol ). TOOF Decay is potted just like I do all others ... No more transplanting and shit ... Just grow god damn it. The Bagged one is the Di Venus and will go to edibles and other things.

I've found that I get better results with led at higher temps than what is considered standard under hps/mh. I think it probably has to do with the lack of infrared with LED not heating the interior of the leaf tissue as far beyond ambient temps as an hps would. I try to run ambient temps between 80 and 85 f at all times whereas with hps I always shot for 78 or so (no co2).

T5 are cool but still a waste of power imo. My veg space is lit up by Cree XM-L2’s, its more light than T5’s, cooler & less power used.

I just watched the growmou5 $95 rapid led xml2 build and I am sold they seem a much better alternative (less power drawn)
I am planning a perpetual cycle
clone humidity dome with 10 clones 1 month
10 clones in veg 1 month
maybe 2 mothers? not sure if i need mothers or if i just take clones b4 moving them to flower room.
I am not sure if you have seen the video of growmau5 putting the kit together but i was considering using similar size pots as he has used for my 4 week veg.
Just wondering if you think i need 1 or 2 of those kits to cover the clone dome,10 veg and 2 mothers(if needed)

Most household circuits don't sustain loads like running lighting for 12-18 hours per day. While 14 will work it just makes sense to up the gauge to keep the wire temps down and give easy of mind knowing your shit won't melt.
