Is that the one with wheels on it...did you make it ? Turning the plants would be nice
Trying to defol without is next to impossible

Becuz back right haze is so tall (over 4’), the other 3 are on pedestals to get them close to same hts. 1st time i’m doin it, so haven’t perfected my approach to making pedestals (but will be another quest...). Couple on wheels.

Of course, having indiv qb fixtures is another approach, but then have to figure out emersons, initiator, uv exposure.

Pedestals so much easier in this setup.

Wheels in tight spaces are greatest thing since extra thick double cream!

Day 40 of ?84?: Sneakin up on the halfway point of labeled flowering duration. Hard to believe, seems farther along. But, except for some drying out of pistil tips from uv, there is nary a fully red pistil yet. “Diesels” are sugaring up nicely; the hazes, while sugaring, are taking their sweet time (and sweet tropical fruits it is).

Pofd ~1050, all controlled variables in range.

OUCHY! I'm betting those lowers grow bigger buds on the stripped plants. Will be interesting to see your results.
Alot more light getting down to the bottoms of the stripped ones vs back ones, no doubt. So should see a diff down there, if remaining leaves are up to it.

Right front one seems to be keeping up with the right back one, even at top. Left one still has to prove itself up to the job.

We’ll see...

Hey man, can I pick your brain? I bought this for 18$
Belecome LED Grow Light Full Spectrum 20W DC5V USB Dimmable Plant Lamp 36Pcs SMD2835 660nm Red 460nm Blue UV IR
" covers 380-840nm and contains UV 390-430nm,Red 650-660nm,Blue 450-460nm,IR 740 -750nm.Although as we know invisiable light UV 390-430nm does not have any effects on plants' germination, growth, generation, it really play a big role on preventing stem elongation and killing insects or bugs. The Ratio of Red and Blue is 5:1"

DGAF about the blue, but-
The advertisement goes on to say
"[Emerson Effect] All the experts know about this name. When IR 720-730nm works together with Red 650-660nm,this will trigger a double effect on the plant growth, which is called Emerson Effect.chlorophyll absorption rate “high”, has a significant influence on photosynthesis and photoperiod effect. Most important:stimulate cell elongation, impact of flowering and seed germination. That's why we add the IR Wavelength into our led grow lights to make up the shortcomings of the only Red and Blue"

So clearly china built, but seems to have been done with intent of being useful? If epistar diodes or whatever are actually putting out those nm this is a good? I'm going to stick it in the flower tent with the hlg and EB lights.
Worst case scenario, it was under $20 shipped to me.

@Randomblame will know more about it than me.

I assume there is only a single on/off switch, meaning all nm are on when light is on. Not sure what the uva would really do for ya. But the far red, in proper combo with reds, is the emerson effect. So question would be is the ratio correct for flowering rather than stretching.

For $18, i’d try it. Keep your eyes on two main things, is intensity better/same/worse on plants, and do you see any additional stretch? Of course, what do you see as overall effect on flowering, too?

The light coming from the bulb is as good as any other light.
I would first find out how much wattage it actually has. The efficiency with such cheap diodes should be between 25 and 30%, so even with real 20w you get only 5-7PAR/w. With 0,5w these diodes run on their upper limits.
If you now consider that there are only a few UV diodes, then it should be clear that they are useless for serious UV treatment. But it is certainly a good lightsource for a single purple basil or other leafy greens. The amount of each wavelength is probably calculated to create a useable spectrum so you can use them as single light source. You can of course use them but I don't think you see much of an effect combinated with a few hundred watts of white light.
