Why not look at the C02 emissions from a different perspective? Instead of trying to categorically lighten emissions via The Kyoto Protocol, why not plant more trees and/or weed?
It's curious that you asked a question then now argue the answer, because the difference between terrorism and global warming is simply that terrorism undeniably exists. It's completely irrelevant that you disagree with me or others in this thread, because if you are right, the same thing will continue to happen. Your question has been answered. one degree is not enormous. if water boils at 100 degrees, it's still hot as hell at 99 degrees, not freezing.

GK, I am almost speechless. I am neither irritated by you nor angry at you. I have confined my arguments to your arguments. So, I say: I do not follow your train of thought. Who cares about playing around with the definition of ‘real’? Pollution is real. People are real. The earth is real. It is pointless and gets us nowhere in the solution to debate over a word. That’s what I meant. I meant no personal attack.

Now, I make no claims of special knowledge. I am simply pointing out the world’s lack of that commodity as well, on this issue. People are getting riled up over what is strongly debated in the scientific community, the only ones who can answer this question.

So, I advocate moderation. Nothing could be further from ego. Neither of us have or can have in-depth knowledge of the actual facts on this matter. So, I say fight for what is provable: pollution. These ad hominid attacks on me are your doing.

I have never seen a border.... I see buildings with guys with guns with tanks... the border is an imaginaryline that is being AGREED upon by some people... BUT it is just A THOUGHT...

this was my DEfinition of real.. things that would and do exist beyond thought..

my argument to the thought "if global warming is a scam no problem, if it's real and we don't do something, we're dead" and I base this on nothing more than my own research into the subject an opinion. Belief in Global warming is crippling our economy. Period. To see this one doesn't have to look any further than [SIZE=-1]The Kyoto Protocol. Billions of $ are being pissed away trying to produce less emissions, developing 'Clean Energy', and trying to slap the hand of any industry that doesn't agree. What we are seeing now are the same zealots that kill each other over which god is the real god. Ignorance is a disease that politically driven environmentalist use to get what they want. The more people give in for no other reason than "It's the right thing to do!" the more our society is weighed down by the chains of oppression. just more of my 2 cents...

what if you're an island continant, like australia? your borders are easy to spot. is your island nation real or not?

this is what i mean by pointless. even without a spray painted outline, USA is a very real government with very real laws because they are agreed upon by its citizens. it you disbelieve; try breaking a few laws and watch the 'fake' police come and lock you away in a 'fake' prison, i guess.

i'm interested in a real solution that plays out in the real world for real people. what else is there?

I think you've captured the essence of working solutions. I just don't see any being offered or in the works (With our current bunch of players) All they see is what's in it for me. I have no Idea of how to get to an influential position and even if I did, I wouldn't want the job.
From what I can gather, there are only two players that want absolute change, Ron Paul and Mike Gravel, neither one of which stand a chance, Yeah, dream on you little monkeys about Ron Paul, but in your mind you know it's impossible. and Gravel, well they make him out to be a loon. Either one would be assasinated before they could change the status quo anyway. I'm sure they have a few scapegoats groomed for that occasion.
No, it's taken us a long time to get to this point. I'm afraid it will take longer to bring it back to sanity. We have to start by exposing the corporations every day and bringing virtuous people back to local and national politics. Throw out the congressmen with no morals or virtues, and recruit new untainted blood for local politics.
Maybe we have to start with us, thats right, you and I. Do we actually stand up for what is right and detest what is wrong with society or do we just say, "what's in it for me"?
