How does my outdoor trellis look?

I set this up in early June. There’s blue mystic and aurora from Nirvana in there. The blue mystic is starting to bud but the aurora hasn’t started showing pistils yet. I’m kinda worried I stopped tucking the branches too soon but I’m prepared for the consequences. Both blue mystic phenos stretch like crazy.

It’s all downhill from here. Just a couple months of waiting. The blue mystics are clones and the aurora is from a feminized seed. I want to do 3 of these trellises next year and start them earlier. I’ve got more clones of the blue mystic and aurora but I’ve also got white widow, candy kush, and tangie on deck.

Last grow I started them out like you...but I wasnt going for an even canopy like you have...I just wanted to do lst to get more branching and then continued to top and fim and it did well after I let them go. received_10156456395904312.jpeg received_1694837713978592.jpeg 20180913_094643.jpg
This was my first yr doing it this way
I plan on tweaking it a lot this next yr.

P.s. I only showed you this to give you ideas... some want smaller some bigger but it's nice to see what can be achieved

Damn I wish I had that kind of space. My outdoor plants are in a fenced off area inside my yard. Next year I’m making the fenced off area a lot bigger. I’m going to do a similarly sized trellis indoors with this white widow and aurora too, but I want to let these veg a little longer and I need to repot them too. 3 of each in here.

Thanks. I just started growing weed earlier this year after I got the necessary license to grow my own legally. There was kind of a learning curve and I didn’t get a very good yield on my last grow. I switched to COB LEDs indoors and I’m going to trellis everything from now on. I also decided to switch from just guano tea during flowering to bone meal mixed into the soil on the final repot, and just feeding with a super light guano/liquid bone meal tea. I love growing outside though and I wish I could do it year round.

Yes growing outdoors is just the best. Somrtjing about being under the sun in the garden just makes me so very happy.
Well if you are a noob then you are in the right place. I could grow before, but I learned so much more from being on this site. Just read every thing you can and soak it all up....also dont be afraid to ask questions.
You are doing great

Well I’m lucky in that I know some really experienced growers out here that have helped me quite a bit, but this is the first time I’ve had everything all set up right to do it on my own. I can’t wait to stop spending so much damn money at the dispensary. Of course I’ll keep this thread updated. I think I made all the mistakes I needed to learn from on the blue mystic moms that I grew indoors. The yield was pretty pathetic because my lights were underpowered and I didn’t train aggressively enough. Not making those mistakes again.

That is awesome you have people to guide you. Every grow you will learn more and get better

I’ll start a log for the indoor stuff once I repot them, set up the trellis, finish the lighting, veg them for another month, and finally flip them. I’m really digging this scrog technique. Just seems way simpler than rigging up a bunch of wires and it lets me use every square inch of a small space. Last year a friend of mine grew this Christmas tree sized Jack Herer and I’d love to do something like that outside one day. I could definitely pull off some big plants because of how isolated my yard is and how tall the weeds get in all the surrounding areas. A 10 foot tangie does have a certain appeal. I still live in the city and don’t want anything getting stolen so scrog seems to be the way to go.

Trellis looks good. I've been wondering if I should do a horizontal trellis or a vertical trellis. Is one better at some stages vs others for an outdoor grow?

Great job! Keep doing whatever it is you are doing.

Also, I probably have listened to Terrapin Station once a week over the last 30 years of my life.

Hell yeah. I had some other dead themed names in mind that were already taken lol. I’m not old enough to have seen the original dead but I love that music. I listen to a lot of channel 23 if you know the siriusxm channel lineup. I did catch JRAD at red rocks last year and I’m gonna catch dead & co at the earliest opportunity.

As for what I’m doing, I have a pretty hands off approach except for the training. I’m going to top dress it with some bone meal but that’s about it.

I definitely stopped tucking too soon lol. Went to Denver for a long weekend and came home to this. Guess I’ll be stocked up for next year. There will be some popcorn bud for sure, but that will be great for making live rosin.

At least you kept it below the fenceline. Cant wait to see those trellis buds
Yeah and that fence is entirely inside my yard. There are two more fences and about 50 feet between those plants and the street, and the other 3 sides border on other properties, all which average 2-4 acres. I live on a 4 acre lot with 3 other houses. Even if they grew above this fence I think they would be okay, but I definitely didn’t intend for them to get that high. I’m super excited for those buds as well. The more indica leaning blue mystic pheno is preparing to make some monster colas.

It also just occurred to me that I’ll probably have to throw some netting on it to support the buds. Should I wait until the buds get bigger?
