Gave Mike a call today, he didn't answer so I left a message. Hopefully I'll hear back from him in the next day or two.

EDIT: Already heard back from Mike, I bought a 290w from him straight instead of bidding on one and hoping I'd win. Got it for a good really good price, very excited to get it!
sweet dude!! glad you got it!! are you gonna hang it right away? or are you gonna finish out some more plants?

Yeah man I'm siked for it, I'm gonna let the plants I have going now finish out first then I'll put it in the cab. Might start to veg a few clones under it in a closet once these are close to finished, that way I can flower with it right away when it goes into the cab.

Since moving the light up to about 8" above the girls they're doing much better and growth is more natural looking. They seem to be transitioning into flower a bit slowly but that may be due partially to how slowly they're drying out. I'm only needing to water them every 4-5 days. Next time I may try doing half perlite and half peat moss instead of a 1/3 to 2/3 mix.

Today is day 10 of 12/12. They seem to be getting into flower a bit slowly, but I'm not sure if that may be from me having the light too close the first couple days?

I too ended up with better faster growing by raising my panels up more, I think that if your plants aren't tall you need to raise the light to get the spectrum's mixing better. I am using both a 40% perlite, 40% soil & 10% organic mix & the same thing but 40% organic & 10% soil and have noticed that the mix with more soil is giving me greener plants but the organic mix drys out faster and seems to be growing faster.

IMO I think soil or organic kinda sucks when growing from LED because of how long your plants sit there in wet soil. I am going hydro for my next grow to see first hand how it gets along with LEDs.

honestly im impressed a bit, they seem to be doing better than i was expecting.
Thanks man, I've only seen one good grow with this light on another forum but seems like a solidly built light and it's definitely working so far. I've been a bit worried from the start that I would have to cut down on the number of plants, doesn't seem to be the case though.

Looking good sir :) love the way the LEDs make the plants look in pics, so purple! :)
Thank you, it's like being greeted by aliens in the morning haha.

That'd be pretty sick man, I've got a friend who's planning to buy a couple Kessil H350's and is gonna do a 4 plant DWC under them. If it works well then I may make the switch to hydro, just hard to give up the ease of soil.

I'm starting to think about depending of the wattage of the LED Grow lights I might buy 1 or 2 and mix them with the other 2 LED lights that I have. It should make it even more interesting. I might get bored take 1 apart and make a LED panel with it.

Very nice, got any design ideas to share? Trying to figure out how I could get LED going in my pc case haha.

Well the setup that I am thinking is to use the LED lights that can be screwed into a light socket. Take those apart and have the LED lights pretty much still attached to the light socket but figure out how to wire more sets of LEDs to the light socket and if done right you should be able to plug it into the wall with out a ballast or any thing and get as many LED lights on 1 plug but I still have to think it out because I know no one has tried that before.

My whole idea is to find a way to keep the LED lights to be able to get plugged into the wall socket.

Hmm that's an interesting view on it. I'll give it some thought and let you know if I come up with anything man. Only immediate problems I can see are the possibility of needing a heat sink or external fan to keep the drivers/diodes cool enough and that it may be difficult to protect the pieces from their environment in that kind of setup.

Well the problem with the panels that you buy is that they more then likely have a ballast inside the fixture but even if you build your own you could build it so that you can put a PC fan or 2 on the side or top to vent it out.

So although the manufacturer recommended 6" or less in flower, it seems like 8" is giving me the best blending of light without sacrificing too much penetration. I had the light at 10" before and the plants all stretched to keep it 8" away and then stopped stretching and resumed normal growth. The plan now is to keep the light at its current distance from the tops, moving it up as needed. The tops have slowly begun to develop over the past few days, the watering after next will be their first dose of flowering nutes at 1/4 strength to acclimate them. I'll get up some pics in a day or two to show progress.

Wow. I've decided to get this exact same light for a 2' x 1.5' space. I like the fact that it is quiet and uses so little electricity. I was going to get a 250W CFL with reflector, but I'd need another bulb, then it gets hot....this light is so nicely made, like an apple. I think it should be good enough for that 3 square foot space, right? I plan to do 4 autos per square foot, with an indica variety suited for that...pink bud, methinks.

I will definitely be watching this one, and will post a journal of mine as well. Somewhere :D
