"Oh come on. Did you ever realize that 1/2 the people you will ever know are below average intelligence?"
I only hang with the bright ones though, i suppose of that subset, 1/2 are below the average of the group.

Everyone thinks that. :) It therefore cannot be true.

And the brighter you are the harder you are to work with?

I only work with groups in tech. One engineer's decision making is abysmal. It doesn't matter if they are Steve Jobs or James Gosling (JAVA) they cannot function alone.

Nothing of any note has been done single highhandedly except solution to thorny math problems.
What type of engineer? I'm also an engineer, but we don't do group thinking. We build individual parts then assemble, one brain per part. 5+ brains = epic fail.

Oh god, average people make my head hurt so bad. The average person might as well be a monkey for how smart they are.

Software. One guy cannot plan software and bring it to market. As soon as the first customer calls he is Marketing and software is on hold.

Don't be foolish you are building, but some team planned it.

What kind of Engineer are you may I ask, since you did and I answered?

The problem with group think is it's a popularity contest, and it's never based on who is more likely to be correct or more intelligent. So the group usually picks a very poor but popular choice. In the case of Cree, it is a very good product, but in many cases very poor selection based on actual user needs/benefits.

Why are you swerving into group think, I gurantee all is Group Think.

There is a small sub-set that you mean, which is really the lack of fresh ideas or courage or both.

I'm also software (Data Warehouse), and I'm usually the one who designs the whole thing, beginning to end. When I get the misfortune of getting something someone else or a group designed, I usually have to redo it.

Really that is pretty sweet for a job if you can get it and you did. So, cool.

I do know what you mean. But, why do companies grow? The customers demand it.
