So I was going to buy a LED light with all the colors I need with it and it says its 1514 lumans total and my grow tent is 8sf total I'm only growing one plant in a 5 gal hydro bucket this will be my first grow I've bought all the fixings for my tent a carbon filter, fans, hydro bucket, nutes ect. I just need to know if this light has enough lumans for one plant because I know the lumans ratio is different with LED light then HID lights and whatnot I just don't want to buy it and my plant don't do shit because its not enough please help.

If it's a red/blue LED lumens don't mean much. The output would be higher than lumens would indicate, but red/blue doesn't have the best track record in this hobby. It will grow a plant but is not the best choice. Post a link to the product and I'm sure you will get a few comments.

I know its cheap but I'm on a budget and that's kind of reaching my budget on a grow light and I also know what you pay is what you get so if you guys know of any better lights around that price range it would be super appreciated if you can send a link my way for something more suitable

Also take into consideration I have a small grow tent its 8sf in total and I'm only growing 1 plant in a hydro 5 gal bucket because I prefer hydro over soil because I feel like ide waste nutes with soil where I know all the money I spent on my nutes will all be absorbed in hydro as long as I keep my pH levels at 5.5-6.5 so I don't have a nutes lockout @Rahz @AquariusPanta

Hydro ime uses more Nutes than soil. As you have to do res swaps. And no I don't think it is enough light. Maybe for a seedling/clone or two.

Do you think 10,000 lumans will be enough my brother uses a 400w HID with 57,000 lumans and he "thinks" that's not enough. I sent him the link you sent me and he said oh that won't be enough now please don't be offended because he thinks he knows everything when I know he doesn't. So I'm still taking you guys words into consideration. Cuz I'll tell him kick fucking rocks because his 400w grew some beautiful fucking girls and he still did not think it was enough. @kmog33

@Tylerhonky i think the suggestion that @kmog33 gave you was meant to be a better light for your space but still stay in your budget. Neither light is going to give you great results but i would trust that fluorescent any day before that led fixture you linked. If your budget is that low then there is really only one solution and that is to take your time and save a little more money. You could buy that fluorescent fixture to veg your plants and in the meantime save a couple hundred to get a 400 watt HPS. That would rock 8 sq ft nicely. In my opinion your budget is way too low to even suggest quality led that would be worth buying. A good COB fixture for your space will cost you somewhere around 300-500

What do you think a good cob fixture for that space would be?

OK well I thank you all for your input and I understand what kmogg was trying to do I also would like to ask if a 150w HID light would work well with veg and flowering if anything it looks like I'll have to save I can afford a more expensive light my wife just constricts me from spending too much I'm just excited about the grow and want to have everything so I can start up my grow as soon as possible BUT if I want good results like I do I know I'll have to be patient. do you think I will get any flowering out of that fluorescent light bulb? I mean I'm not expecting an AMAZING yeild but something would be nice for at least the experience I don't want to buy the light and get no yeild out of it ide rather do what you said and just save if that's the case.

150 watt hps is way better than either light aforementioned. But for your space a 400-600 watt hid would be better. Or ~300 watts of high efficiency LEDs.

I started growing using CFL's get the right ones and you can get some decent bud, they produce a ton of heat and are really inefficient tho so when you get the money upgrade your lights.

Either will grow a single plant. The 150w HID would be the better option if you can spring for it.

Surely you can grab a 250w hps and ballast for $50. Would be much better than the 150 and a bazillion times better than that 14w panel.

If you can go to about $75/100 you could build a 2 cob light that would destroy all your other options
