Hmmmm...a bit foreign for me with the hydro gears there....So you want to do light dep yeah...?

Ok so soil: No water added for at least last 4 days....Soil is bone dry and roots are starting to stress....then taken out of the grow environment and plunged into pitch darkness...i dont have a fan blowing but where i leave them they get adequate air flow. Then 4 days (96 hours approx) later... trimmed, cut and hung...

So Hydro: Leave it in water as you dont want to kill your plant yet....just stress it. (That makes sense yeah?) I would say it would be really important for you to have good air flow...being around alot of water...do you continue to bubble it? Im just not sure sorry. Make sure they get no light...most important.

I think it is summer in your neck of the woodz...so not sure if you can drop the temperature enough to change colour....if you even want that..? :)

Decided to cut/trim Clone#1. She is the one who got extra RB via my 90w ufo, which may be no more than 50-70

The Moment of Truth

Clone # 1 56gms trimmed

Clone # 2 113gms trimmed

If 1/3 wet weight when dry then ~ 50gms

I decided to attempt to reveg clone #2. She is now in single bucket HH Ring system

Interesting timing for discussion...
Jay "theGrowPro" did this recently, it seems. And here are his results which seem to corroborate what you said re: trichome production.
In this case, he left it in the dark for 3 weeks.

Interesting stuff....i am shit scared of mould though...so this isnt for me.

I have left them for 48 hours without any real difference...I find 96 to 110 (rough as!) hourz is a good balance for crystals to POP...and leaves really yellowing with good structure (still rigid) but not dead like in his video...trimming would be even more annoying then it is now! :)

This is all dependant on room, humidity and temps though...and of course...personal preference :)

He was keeping them in a controlled room @ 25-30%RH. So if you can't control that aspect, I suppose it would be a concern.
The reason he went 3 weeks was because of that woman doing the roses for a month... There is probably a happy range between 4 & 21 days, I'm sure. Different geno/pheno-types probably have different optima.

My question is, and this based on...

1. That I grow hydro
2. That I cut the main stalk and leave my buds on the plant and hang them to dry in a dark closet with a small oscillating fan

is whether keeping the root on plays a role in his result

I thought it was common practice to keep budz in the dark...from hanging to storing them...degrading THC and being more potent...mweh...just my practice i guess.. :)

I think I better clarify for anyone who is now uncertain whether I dry in a dark closet, louvered door + small recir fan. The answer is yes

HOWEVER, C how long do you leave them hanging?

I was told until the stems snap, then cut the buds off and jar; into which I place a humidor gauge

Oh yip...Anywhere from 4-6 days....then leave stems on and straight into brown paper bags (yip...have to be brown :-P ) and into freezer for at least 2 weekz and until needed.... (as long as you like really) Then taken out,de-stemed and put into light proof container

2 grows back I went from hanging dry (~ 5 days), but probably should pulled it at 4 day

to glass jars burped and popped 2-3xs a day

I put ~ 1/2z and put it a corrugated box (basically thicker wall paper bag with corrugated divider) in the freezer and drew off it until it was gone, 3-4 weeks

Can't say I noticed any more/less potency, but that would be hard enough to judge having both on hand and smoking them close enough together to remember, if you could, cause,... like,... man,.... you know,... you're stoned:bigjoint:

Subbed up....finally..
Running t5 cfl, few cw cfl globes ,a led spotlight and a homemade 10w red led flood (cant member nm) in my combined veg/clone tent and 600hps sontagro in the flower.. Want to change to all t5s or t8 leds in the future..
My current t5 is an aquarium fixture from ebay.. Globe is half white, half actinic blue ..seems to work ok..?

Dry Weight Total: After 2 weeks in the paper bag I pulled 31gms, virtually no stems + the early cut I gave toward a debt. Will post pics taken on the scale tomorrow when I post new baby pics

Future grows should be considerably more, as I will be growing 2 more plants and improving (tweaking really) on my High Energy Rez System which includes; Flooming + HH Ring + River Rock + Water Fall

ALSO I could have the mystery LED company's grow light then

The future is LEDs, and the future is now. I would not spend another penny on cfls. Go to my [I]Hear Ye[/I] thread and see how I was able to ease into it. Also captainmorgan has completed a killer grow using only Cree A 19 household globe bulbs
