Impressive piece of kit, the new viparspectra xs1500 seems to have some good intelligent design behind it too.
So yes it does have lenses,but ive been looking at the pictures and noticed the central panel dont have the lenses but the two outer pannels do. Ive been waiting for something like this for awhile. With the central panel on the fixture being lensless but the two outer panels coming with the lenses what we have I believe and the idea behind the design is to lower the hotspot in the middle and depending on lense design increase the intensity, focus and penetration along the light footprint just out side of the centre and to the outer edge.
Its a beautiful fixture and looks very well built with quality components, looks like its built to last.
Wouldn't mind testing out something like this. From its shape I think it would be perfect for something more like a 2half ft x 2ft or 3 x 2 wich might be perfect for a cab I have. Looks great, nice work viparspectra team. Good luck to all wanting to give this a try.

With a par map that this light provides supplemental lighting wouldn't be needed like other setups since there is practically no drop off in light intensity outside the middle, which would be great for my setup where I often rotate my plants and have the lights moved over to provide different parts of the plants more light intensity.

Edit: I have no friends, I'm a newb here though not a newb in growing my medicine.

Always love seeing new lighting upgrades --since starting growing plants indoors the whole industry has changed so much it is a cool seeing how rapidly everything is changing

Yo, wiki search... A lens is a transmissive optical device that focuses or disperses a light beam by means of refraction. A simple lens consists of a single piece of transparent material, while a compound lens consists of several simple lenses, usually arranged along a common axis.

The XS1500 has new gen lenses that even out the ppfd throughout the canopy.
I believe that if it works as advertised then it will increase yield by giving better penetration and such. @Slaveboy @Mumbeltypeg @Lizard420 dont hate me for the tag. Daddy needs a new light. :)

and yes the new ViparSpectra XS1500 Pro has Lenses, which increases the flower size and gives stronger turps compared to same powered light without lenses
