Even if I could drill thru the 3 FEET of concrete I now have my exhaust right next to my front door. My thinking was to run the exhaust the length of the unit to the vent at the other end.

And yes, smell is an issue. As I mentioned before we have an grumpy old lady who lives down there. She doesn't have access to this side of the basement (installed a fucking bank vault door to keep her insanity contained). So a little smell is ok, full on sticky icky stank not so much.

I'm gonna work up some plans this week for everyone to review and provide feedback.

Again, thanks everyone for all the help. Means a lot to me.

Oh, and anyone who has beef with me badmouthing my mother in law know this:
5 months ago the police practically kicked my door down bc she called in a domestic violence. She heard all types of banging and screaming. We were fucking. No joke. Cops thought it was hilarious.
Be better if you were at the other end by the vent

The end with the vent has a bunch of pipes that come into the house. And all the cable wires. It's kinda a mess actually.

And yes, it's extremely easy to drill thru concrete with the right equipment. This is something I actually know all about. Spent hundreds of hours logging core samples....

So here is my situation (worded as best I can):

The space is 60'x4'x8'

The end I want to use is 7'x4'

The temparature in the space is around 50 degrees from November to March.

I can put intake vents at the bottom of the grow room and run the exhaust 10' into the storage space thereby mixing the hot exhaust with the 50 degree air.

The space has a dehumidifier set to turn on at +50 (runs about an hour everyday) so humidity shouldn't be an issue.

Sound ok?

Won't have to scoop snow off the porch

The porch is covered. Never gets snow.

The entire 60'x4'x8' space is designed to be and is currently our storage space. I'm proposing to turn the 7' of this (where I'm currently keeping cans of paint, my old cd collection, a snowblower, and a box that isn't labeled so I'm treating it like a time capsule) into an awesome grow room with the help of my new awesome friends on RIU.

I'm not sure about exhausting into the same room...you would have to divide it...have a makeshift wall or something and see how it works...set up lights first and just run them for a day...see what happens in there with temps. An out the room exhaust is better...but you'll just have to try it out and see. Before you start growing.

you can tell me the room dimensions...but it's not the same as walking in and actually looking around...it might work, you might have to make changes...

I understand it's 50 there now, it will not be with a 1000 watt light running. You NEED to be under 80 unless you're running CO2. And with CO2...you want a sealed room, no venting...but that is a little advanced for a new guy. And you will have to buy CO2 canisters, regulators...remember...keep it simple...venting outside is simple

and trust me when I tell you...that garage is 5 degrees warner when I'm dumping that heat in there...and the garage is 30x bigger than the grow room it exhausts into
