please don't take this the wrong way.....those buds didn't look big enough to snap a main stem. Some butrient deficiencies can cause weak stems...is that a possibility?
or did you just break it on accident an are too embarrassed to say so. lmao jk
That's really heart breaking man. That'd be like me harvesting today and that would SUCK.
Are you gonna try and salvage it someway?
0.o Im guessing water weight i didn't think they were that heavy ether. Anyway I was moving them to take pictures and she snapped right off only hanging on by a little skin. Ether way ive been keeping a closer eye on my girls then usual and the only deficiency ive seen is Magnesium. I tried to salvage her but she didnt wanna hang on so shes been trimmed and is hanging as we speak and the 6th picture is the whole branch that broke the 1st picture is where it broke off right next to the brown bamboo stick is were she broke. Shes had one weak stem the whole time

Thanks dude. I think the frost has more to do with the bare bulb vert I run more than anything else. With glass blocking the UV they just throw out trichs like crazy. The temp goes down to 63-65 degrees F at night, that might have helped them go purple too. Maybe that could help yours along?
I had a feeling this strain would do a lot betting in hydroponics. I want to give it a run in hydro next time around. You're right about wanting to smoke them lol.
The smell is truly unlike any I've ever smelled. I'd never grown a strain that had any crazy smell like mango or strawberry or lemons or anything like that, so I had a hard time believing it when ppl would say their weed smells like this or that. After growing this, I'm a believer. True candy smell like fuity pebbles. It completely over-powers the smell of the OG and Bubba Kush I'm growing with it. The whole house stinks with it and in the morning when I wake up, it's the first thing I smell. It's permeated every room. It's not a sour or gas or lemony smell at all. It's pure sugar. There's a creme soda kind-of under tone and then toasted earth/almond smell of kush just makes it insane. It's almost worth buying for the smell alone. Really truly remarkable.
I like how you mentioned cream soda because it does have a cream to it, huh? You definitely love the bud which is awesome. I'm often surrounded by jaded gardeners and it's good to see people who love weed.

Couple things...

Good point on the temps. My garden stays between 70-75 24/7. It would get cool during the "night" (my day) but the sun heats it up a lot. It then cools down during the "day" (my night) but the lights counteract that and it just stays the same temp. I have seen some really cool stuff with temps changing colors though. Couple crops back I had some Jack turn completely purple on one side that was being hit with cold air and then stay green on the other side.

You are right about running hydro. Here is why: my plants get watered 15 times a day for 15 minutes each time. Am I overwatering? Well, you saw the pics so I'll let you be the judge. The more the plants can drink the more sugars and nutrients they can get. Also, no bugs from bags of dirt that sit in the Sunlight Supply loading area for weeks on end baking in the sun. I think you would really enjoy coco. I have done a shitload of work to do coco well so ask any questions you have and if I don't know, I'll find out.

Lastly, GTFO with that UV crap;) - - - just KIDDING. There is actually a really great article in High Times this month by Greg Greene all about UV. His main point was this:

Plants (and animals, most life for that matter) do not like UV. Plants with UV protection will therefore be more fit, therefore have more reproductive success, and therefore have offspring with more UV protection. UV protection for a Cannabis plant is its trichomes. Lest we smack of Lamarkism, we deduce that it is the genetic predisposition to already have that UV protection (trichomes) and not a lifetime acquisition of that trait through repeated UV exposure. (He also said UV damages DNA.)

Keep in mind I know nothing about this or at least I know nothing compared to Greg Greene or Beansly who have obviously taken the time to look into it. I do find Beansly's to be frostier than mine though.

Yer funny dude...haha
Yeah, I really have no basis of comparison other than the arrangement makes a lot of sense to me lol. Rather than try to explain it, I'll just take the compliment  Thanks. I read that there are large scale UV tests going on this year and that the results should be out soon, but I don't remember where I read it, but there already a lot of growers convinced the UV helps. Talk to cannawizard. He's got a whole thread about it and I think he supplemented his grow with reptile lights.

I don't think you're over watering at all. Weed can eat as much as you can give it and you're proving it expertly. I'm going hydro next time around. Can't wait. And yeah, I get a cream in the smell, it's awesome. :leaf:

I'll look more deeply into the cannawizard thread and see what I can find. It's funny I referenced that High Times article by Greg Greene because I hate that guy's book and I think he is arrogant and a prick. Sorry, Greg.

Cannawizard, on the other hand, uses Banana Manna. NOBODY uses Banana Manna unless they know what they're doing. It's expensive as shit and you have to use a ton of it but man oh man does it provide some incredible flavor. And it's organic, yay.

I know Matt's growing a room full of it....maybe he'll throw up pics of that purple pheno he was talking about...

Plushberry Day 40
This looks exactly like the phenotype I have, any more pics?I think its the lower yeilding one, Im curious how much it swells up in later flowering/how much food it likes? I just got my ppm meter in the mail. It works pretty dam good for under 20$.I remember looking for a meter in the past and never found anything with good reviews for under 100$. The meter I have now had 99% good reviews, and it was on sale and had free shipping. If you need a bargain ppm meter i suggest u check it out. Its called the TDS-EZ meter. It comes calibrated and people report using it for years without having to recalibrate. Anyways, i tested my water and it reads about 250ppm in calmag, and 1300ppm after adding nutrients the same way I have been. This seems sufficient? Im using 2 parts bloom 1 part grow, I water with nutrients 2 out of 3 waterings, the third I use just a little molasses+calmag. The soil is used soil, useually I just use large pots and dont pour much nutrients in and practically just use RO water. So this soil wasnt really fully rooted when the plants were finished. Some of them were males too so the soil was basically brand new from those. I broke off all the loose soil and saved it. So its partially nutrient deficient. But it has no possibility for salt buildups or ph swings(i think). This is the first time ive had to rely so much on bottled nutrients.
Im curious on something, some people say you need to flush the nutrients every week to avoid salt buildups(some people say theres no need?)?Does this mean 3x the pot? considering I have plants that seem to want lots and lots of food and eat it up really fast. How often should I really flush? AKA how many times would one person have to pour 1300 ppm nutrients in the soil for a salt buildup to occur, considering the plants actualy require the food.??Can I be comfortable feeding my plants until the last 2 weeks without using a proper "leaching"?Or is just using some regular water every other watering like I have been doing sufficient to keep any salts from building up?I already plan on using only water about a week, then flushing the soil completely and letting it go for a few more days to a week before flowering.
The back of some of my nutrient bottles also say "change the nutrient solution every week to avoid excess..." But to me flushing a 5 gallon pot with 15 gallons of water every week is kinda ridiculous...

Yup there are more pics one page back taken yesterday. I filled a 5 gallon pot about 1/3 with SS and the rest Roots. I have top dressed 2 times now if that helps any.

I recently put up more fans and new ventilation because my girls looked a little over heated. My temp before was 82-84 Lights on Humidity 16% Never really went higher. Now i have it to 23 Humidity and 73.
Cant really help much more then that not really a ppm expert its been a good year since i checked my ppm

from last round, purple pheno. the purp pheno leaves do the same thing as blueberry, curling down and inwards.

I think that's the plant I have, my plant has curling leaves and its skinny. Hopefully mine turns purps.
This strain must be pretty stable. Seems like everyones plants look somewhat the same. Ive never actually been inside a thread before where 2 people have the same strain and they both actually look the same lol...And useually ill compare my plants to pics on the internet and they dont even really match up with the description.Could this be blamed on fem seeds as well?I think not only do female seeds hermi out, but I think they are tweaky plants alltogether and have more phenotypes? It seems like ill have to plant 5-10 female seeds to get one decent phenotype, which sucks when 70% of them herm out randomly. I really wish people would boycott those fucking things already. Now there just needs to be a Agent orange ,the flav and space bomb picture thread.Basically every strain should have a thread like this where people can give props or talk shit about it or w/e. Useually when im looking for a strain, I just find like 10 threads that got abandoned, and some where the grower didnt at all know what they are doing. And then the only real information seems to come from the breeders themselves.
I have a theory that some breeders have strains that sell well. And then they experience a problem and something happens to the strain. But the demand for the seeds is still there so they just pretend to still have the strain.Or maybe try to recreate the strain using similar genetics. Or maybe they dont know how to keep other male plants pollen off of the plant or something. I dont want point fingers, but I can definately see shit like this happening. I say this because ive grown so many shit plants from attitude seeds. There were a few good ones here and there, but most of them sucked and were total ripoff. Its like wtf did I really just pay you for some fucking white seeds that arent even mature yet?I know they will return orders sometimes if unpleases, but to me it doesnt really make it better because the amount of time wasted cannot be replaced. Not only that, but normally every time I have grown a successful plant ill look up other peoples journals and they dont even look the same, or they had herm problems. The best plant ive ever grown from attitude was pineapple chunk. But when I read peoples reviews after growing it everyone else says it sucks and hermis, and is stretchy even though mine was a short single cola plant,i think this strain is more stable nowdays but still. Makes no sense to me, other than poor quality control! Anyways, you all already know I hate most breeders, that being said it means alot when I say TGA is the best breeder ive ever ordered from! All my seeds were perfect, no duds. All my strains look exactly like the pictures. And no fucking herm's besides the one that I starved from calcium/magnesium. Probably has something to do with being an American based seed company.

plushberry ice wax

Thanks
I make BHO and have problems with it on several levels. Not problems making it. Just problems inherently with it. (Solvents aren't my bag.)

So I think I'll be heading over to that youtube link to get on this ice wax.

Haha, anybody want cases upon cases of butane I won't be using if mattrize's technique works well for me? ;)
