You're close enough to get my base soils. I'll send you the amendments. Blows FFOF,PROMIX and earth organics out of the water. A 2 gallon pot will yield 2-3 o's when flipped at 4 weeks from rooted clone. Without topping so to say. Selective pruning. Smaller footprint, less moving parts, less cleaning, less maintenance, less energy consumed and less time messing with it all. Feed ,water maintain trimming. that's it. SCROG most likely. Get bigger than you think.
Sounds good. I'd appreciate it. I'm always looking for ways to improve everything.
Gets annoying sometimes...

Just trying to show you a more compact practical way. Plants want basic needs. Not fancy delivery systems. I'm only as crazy as you think I am. HHa ha. Just enjoy hearing how everyone else is doing it. trying a couple things I readhere. Who knows/ Sounded logical.

I'm sad to say that today was a day of reckoning for my veg tent.
I chopped all 3 mothers and all my clones :(

Just kidding.
Not about the chopping, but about being upset. :)
I cleared everything out to be able to run a couple auto flowers in there while my photos veg.
20200815_190723.jpg
Autos will be in 7 gallon bags that I filled/folded to roughly 5 gallons with a mix of ProMix, MC Gro Performance organics garden soil, a little organic potting soil I picked up earlier this summer and some perlite.
I'm going to feed them my feed mix I came up with for hydro, but about 1/2 strength and with no added Calmag because I'll be using my 350ppm tap water.

Strains are Jack Herer and OG Kush from ILGM. Left over seeds from my first grow.
They're in the cups on top of the light until tap roots pop. I have my new dome setup on and hope to hit 78F soil temp by the time they're ready to go in. When they're ready for transplant, it's straight into the bags.

Once they start stretching, I will move them over to the other 1/2 of the 4'x8', and they'll flower under a 315CMH or 600W HPS. I'm up for suggestions.

White Widow #1 day 17 doing her thing. Going to leave her on a 11/13 schedule for a bit.

Boring night. Fiddle fucked around rearranging things.

I like having open access to the catch trays for the autos. I think I'm going to just do very little LST and flower them under my cmh. It's the first light I ever purchased and I've not completed one grow with it. So I'm thinking it's time to see what she can do.

Setup will be a 315W Hydrocrunch ballast, Phillips 3100k Elite bulb in a Sun System yield master 6" a/c hood. From previous use I know I can basically drop the glass on top of the canopy with no issues with the setup. I also plan to heavily use my 24"/24W T5 UVB light in late flower.

Everything in this tent will be on a constant 18/6 cycle. This tent is #1. My photo veg area #2. A bonus space to grow a couple autos.

The soil under the dome is already up to temp @ 78F, so I'll most likely just go ahead and move the seeds from the water to the tray tomorrow.

So I lied....
The Granddaddy Purple ended up not being my last seed order. Just placed an order for these babies...

Pretty stoked. Never used Nirvana so interested to see how well they do. Gelato was one of my 2 strains I've been looking for. Now I just need to find a decent fem Green Crack. Kinda surprised they didn't have it.
Nice to see they take credit cards. It's and extra $6, but $44 for 5 fem seeds sounds reasonable to me.

So, probably going to have a Gelato hit the veg tent once WW2 goes into flower in a month.
HSO has a nice energetic Green Crack. It's one of my favs and definitely has a mango smell after cure.

Arr those air cooled hoods any good?

Arr those air cooled hoods any good?
Absolutely.
About the most expensive, but worth it. Nothing flimsy. Built like a tank.
Running 1- 600w HPS/MH per tent atm. Veg tent 6" filter/fan @ 50%, flower tent 8" filter/fan turned all the way down, I only get a 2.4F rise in temps in the tents.
The hood in that picture is the 6" yield master. Just make sure you've got room if you go for an XXXL. They're huge. (Xxxl low profile magnum pictured here)

Best part is, I know just from the feel of these, so long as I don't break them....they'll last a lifetime. I'd buy them again for sure. (Probably why I own 4 of them) :)

I had no idea you were running 3k Watts or I would have been checking this one out long ago. Looks great man I enjoyed reading. So maybe a dumb question, tomatoes and peppers don’t have to be flipped to start making fruit?

I'm pretty diligent about measuring my light amounts over my canopies. It's been a huge pet peeve of mine that I don't have an actual PAR meter; just a $25 Lux meter from Amazon.
So I've been doing the math, but basically guessing @ my PAR amounts from my mh/cmh/hps.

I saw this MIGRO video (I know :()
where he uses the Apogee SQ 500 to measure PAR for 3000, 3500, 4000, and 5000k spectrum white LED, MH and HPS and gives a chart reading and calibration for a $30 Lux meter off Amazon... https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07Q56D14Z?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

So I ordered one, got it today and tried it out.
20200818_012025.jpg
Nothing special. The display is easy to read even under direct light, but the sensor head rotates 270 degrees so that can be avoided.
It reads on average about 5k-7k lower than my other meter does which is why I bought it. For $30 I now have the peace of mind actually knowing what I'm giving to my girls.

If you don't want to watch the video but are interested in the details, here's a couple pictures of the charts for MH and HPS
Screenshot_20200817-183756_YouTube.jpg
Screenshot_20200817-183801_YouTube.jpg
I also went ahead and made myself a chart on the wall for 150/300/600/800 PAR->Lux# (they say messy handwriting is a sign of intelligence...or I just really suck @ it. don't make fun :))
20200818_012536.jpg
The best part is now that I know how much light I need, I've been able to make adjustments and have figured my costs out to be about $0.13 per/hr when lights are on atm.
So, if you're anal about measuring your light spread (and money) like I am but aren't rich, I would definitely consider taking a look @ the video.

On to the growing part...
I got lights/plants shifted around. Everything is @ a minimum of 600 PAR @ the dimmest point of the canopies.
315cmh running in the veg tent for now.
20200818_012740.jpg
White Widow #1 is still under 650w hps and I couldn't be happier with the way she looks 1 night after getting defoliated.
Last night

Today
20200818_012919.jpg
She's going back to a 12/12 schedule now that the pistils are established.
20200818_013054.jpg

And thanks to my recent exhaust work and light adjustments, I've found I can only open 1 vent on each tent a wee little bit to maintain a 75F temperature with my fans on low...

Not going to win the beauty pageant, but got WW#1 back under the net. She's filling in the 4x4 better than expected. Thinking she'll look good in a few days.
20200818_224505.jpg

Veg is going well. Don't seem to mind the cmh. I'm going to toss the net back in there tonight or tomorrow.
20200818_224616.jpg

2 new additions. OG Kush in front and the green dot in the space behind her is the Jack Herer just starting to show.

Tuck, tuck, tuck.

Working on my Scrog technique. It's turning out to be as much upkeep as I want to make it. Seems she can go a few days and be fine, or I can come in every couple of hours and something new needs adjusting.
It'll be nice to have that leeway once I have 2 full plants going.

I'm starting to get the concept of "even canopy" down I believe...
20200819_204725.jpg
And I really like the penetration I'm getting from it to the lower bud sites below.
20200819_204822.jpg

Got a net back up in the veg tent. I had to swap the cmh out for a 650w mh because the OG kush and jack herer both sprouted and I didn't realize the light was to dim. So, the OG has some legs on her and will get potted lower @ transplant.

Day 23 white widow
20200821_001151.jpg

Now running 715w combined in the veg tent. (tent#2 hence forth now that autos and veg photos will be in there)
Call me crazy, but I transplanted the autos to their (5gal) bags today. It was only 1 day since they popped, but it's done.
20200821_000737.jpg
OG Kush in green...
20200821_000833.jpg
And Jack Herer is wearing yellow.
20200821_000906.jpg
They're under the 315 CMH @ 22".

WW#2 and the GDP are sitting with 400 watts of metal halide slammed on their heads.
20200821_000535.jpg
I'll be putting a net up tomorrow.

Checked in on the autos.
12 hours since transplant. Less than 48 from popping dirt.

I'm starting to think transplanting them that soon may not have been such a bad idea after all.

Forgot to mention, the auto's will be fed RO water with 1 part Megacrop @ 75% dose rates and 3ml/gal Calimagic.
