Supreme Court USA : No need for warents if police smell weed and you are slow to door

It's seems a stretch that LEO would now routinely use this ruling as justification for warrant-less searches. The key thing here is the police were acting in good faith. What if they were chasing a serial killer and smelled rotting corpses in the wrong apartment, should the evidence be voided? I know that is an extreme analogy but I couldn't think of anything else....I'm smoking some excellent evidence now.

Also, an 8-1 ruling seems like a no-brainer for a Supreme Court case.

headbutt a knife-

as far as the local john, doesn't the law in michigan have provision for leo's INability to search based on being a card holder? that would include smoking?

the precedent of this is a harsh reality. in order to bolster a failing drug war they are going to blatantly abuse first amendment rights? the thing is i can't figure out how that helps us or them. legalizing cannabis would alleviate a multitude of our problems including prison overcrowding. they are posturing to stack them full. WHY? the money saved by relieving DOC funds would go along way towards social programs and the war machine. there would be be countless other savings.

do we have treaties with other countries agreeing to fuck ourselves like this or something.?!?

I believe the story of Harry Anslinger and his campaign to get all the states to sign on is what you want.

I need help here what video covers that?
Lets see I did a google search of "history of cannabis" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sknoKWsVlAA

I think that is the one.. What are the other films I am forgetting?

I am deeply disappointed in Kennedy and Sotomayor and Kagan. This ruling opens up warrant-less searches by police just as Ginsberg wrote. To think that the more liberal minded judges would go along with this ruling just boggles the mind.... and Alito's opinion was just down right BS. How was the guy to stand on his constitutional rights when the cops kicked down his fucking door? And just last year, they decided corporations are private people that can donate to 527 slut funds in private, never mind what the actual owners (shareholders) think.... WTF is this court coming to? Is it time to abolish this silly 3 arm branches of government? I'm tired of each one trying to one up the other...

It's frightening that it gives so much room to burst in.
Do you remember that 7 year old who was shot?
The Grandma thought she was dealing with robbers.

Our police need to be careful not cowboys IMO.

Aiyana Jones, 7-Year-Old Sleeping Beauty, Fatally Shot by Detroit Police During Raid

DETROIT (CBS/AP) State police will take over the investigation into the death of 7-year-old Aiyana Jones who was fatally shot by a Detroit police officer Sunday during a raid at the girl's home, a prosecutor said Monday.
According to Assistant Chief Ralph Godbee, the Detroit police barged into the home with their guns drawn searching for a homicide suspect that was involved in the slaying of a 17-year-old boy. One of the officers was allegedly involved in a scuffle with a woman inside the home when the gun went off and fatally struck the sleeping child in the neck.

Is it really wise to burst in on folks on drugs?

I would believe those police were on an adrenalin rush from the chase so that is another reason to step back and focus I do believe.
They didn't know where the suspect went so they had little idea what was what and they kicked in the wrong door.
I understand on the police doing their jobs but it feels good to not like this event.

What the resident is deaf?

The slow but steady move towards a world police state.

They say if you drop a frog in a pan of hot water it will jump out because the frog can perceive the sudden change and react however put that frog in a pan of cool water and slowly heat that to a boil and the frog will boil to death because it cannot perceive change over a long period of time.

Slowly we are the boiling I do believe.

And had the occupant of the invaded home been armed and fired off a shot in self defense, he would be wrongly dead, or an officer could have ended up wounded and dead and the occupant charged with a crime, merely for defending his home....

what?-

does the government want? and why. why would they be demonizing constitutionalists? isn't the us constitution one of the greatest collection of ideals in human history?

i got to thinking about it just today. we KNOW we don't elect the president. WHO the fuck does? who are these guys? senators, governors? business men? that would be bad. it can't be true that business votes override citizens?

all of these different angles are blinding points of light. if not for me then you.
other countries are ready for the us to make good on all the promises in the treaties. it will catch us all up. the world is sick of the US running shit.
its all about the promises made already.

i have nightmares of un troops occupying american soil to enforce drug treaties. could you imagine what i'd do? no wonder they've got all those septic tanks lying around.

The gov wants to spend millions of dollars on the "war against pot." Court fees, court appointed lawyers, booking process etc... Is paid by our taxes, instead of legalizing mmj and boosting local, state and fed revenues.

Who elects the pres? Its the electoral college(jus remembered) I think or some group of "elite people." the gov lets people vote so we can feel that we did good for our country in casting our votes. Im not a gov major, so I might be wrong, sorry if I am.

Im jus really high right now!

heres the 60 minute piece demonizing constitutionalists

The new Al Qaeda

The CBS video attempts to connect constitutionalists and members of the sovereign citizen movement to Terry Nichols, the Oklahoma City bombing, and supposedly racist militias. It uniformly portrays those who argue the government has violated its constitutional mandate as violent, insane, and possibly racist. It insinuates that if you have a problem with income taxes or are an advocate of states rights under the Tenth Amendment, you are an extremist and domestic terrorist.

I didn't know anything about that movement either,.
If I were you I'd start a thread with that because that is an interesting discussion for sure.
