I didn’t know it was happening until I wondered “where’s Mars?” and spotted it two minutes (of arc) from the moon’s edge using binos. That’s when I threw the link on Riu.

I saw it the minute of emergence as an orange pimple on the lunar horizon.

Marijuana now legal in Missouri
It is now legal to possess up to three ounces of marijuana in Missouri, though recreational sales aren’t expected to begin until February 2023 at the earliest.

Missouri is the latest state to legalize possession of marijuana for recreational use, joining 20 other states, Washington D.C. and Guam in legalizing the drug.

Although it is now legal to possess up to three ounces of marijuana in Missouri, recreational sales of the drug will not begin until medical facilities convert their licenses, a process that could take months.

Voters approved a ballot measure legalizing the drug in the 2022 midterm elections. The measure amended the state’s constitution to remove bans on purchasing, possessing and selling marijuana for adults aged 21 or older.

According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, adult-use product could be available as early as February 2023. With a six percent tax on retail sales, expanded legalization is expected to generate more than $40 million in revenue for the state.

Although the department will begin accepting requests for medical facility licensees to convert to a comprehensive facility on Dec. 8, once approved, it is up to each dispensary to decide when it will begin sales. At this time, the department is not accepting applications for new medical or comprehensive licenses.

The Missouri decision also allows those convicted of nonviolent marijauna-related crimes to petition for parole or incarceration release and have their records expunged.

Those looking to personally cultivate marijuana can begin applying for identification cards on February 6.

It depends on China's behavior, one thing is certain though, chip manufacturing will be on shored in North America and Europe, so will EV battery production and pharmaceuticals. We must use caution with economic or technological interdependence on them since they use the global system as weapons of war and blackmail. If it wasn't for the collective voice and power of the EU, they would blackmail Europe one country at a time over nearly everything.

We use sanctions too as an enforcement mechanism for international law and trade agreements, but it is an international legal process, just like the one that will be used to take seized Russian money for Ukrainian war reparations. Interdependency and promoting trade is also an evolving mechanism for peace established after the second world war. After this war in Ukraine its pragmatic value is apparent, it will become the enforcement arm of the UN. Cutting them off from the global economic and trade system seems the most effective mechanism for peace and China is particularly sensitive to that form of pressure.

The junk drawer is the only logical place I could put this. In another 'sign of the times" hear this.As I've said before, this chromebook I'm using now in a pub. WIFI spot is my only participation in the digital world. Therefore I have no WIFI in my single fam. home nor do I own a cellphone. I've had the same job for 23 yrs.now and I get laid off seasonally.I called unemp. Tues. to open a claim and found out that my existing claim was still in effect for one week.I told the dude,"oh man, after listening to a automated voice on speaker for 45 min. and actually getting someone that speaks clearly that sucks as I've had agents I can barely understand and mistakes have been made by them forcing me to have to call again. The dude was cool and said he'd call me this Mon. to file my new claim,I was like wow, cool man thanks so much,I couldn't believe my good fortune. Fast forward to Thurs.,my phone rings one time and all of a sudden no dial tone.My landline has went down about 5 times in the last 3 years.Went to my neighbor's house and he was kind enough to get in touch w/them,they can't show up til this Tues. fkng. up my unemployment call. When Verizon shows up I say WTF,how many times can this happen,All the infrastructure on my house is new as a guy in a truck ripped it off my house 10 yrs. ago and it is all replaced, not some 50 yo wiring. They say the infrastructure on the poles is so old and rusted it's hard to get a decent connection.Just another eg. of a sucky utilility refusing to maintain their infrastructure. To top this off I tried the unemp. center's new online claim and cert. system to see if I can get my payment for this week,I just was trying to set up a account mind you,not file a claim, and the new and improved system wouldn't let me saying it encountered some probs. verifying my id., all I entered in was name, address, and SSN info. UnFKNGbelievable,I'm no techie by a longshot, but I';m able to buy seeds, use Amazon,Walmart, set up my email acct.,and join and participate in this forum.BS these days is so thick I need a chainsaw.

Biden is suppose to improve rural internet, so maybe it will get better or maybe the corporation will rip off the money and give you fuck all while the republicans cover for them because it make Biden look bad. At least the democrats are trying, many folks today just use the internet and phone for entertainment, news and to stay connected. A kid without a cellphone these days doesn't exist socially and is isolated from their peers, alone.

I hear ya,I'm stubborn about adding another bill for a cell as I have no fam. and lost my lady to the stroke, plus other costs are skyrocketing,I'm in a city of 90,000 for the phone lines to be this decrepit is a joke, and WIFI in my home would have me on the net all day probably masking me lazy to all the tasks required that living alone now entails, its pretty sad where a landline runs the risk of going out any time a wind driven rain occurs. Anytime cell service has a prob. people will rely on landlines for emergencies and that infrastructure has been seriously neglected in my recent experience. Nothing against the bucket truck guys who show up but the profit driven shareholders in these utility co.'s want they're dividends, maintenance be damned. Five service calls for a simple landline telephone in 3 years is a joke and I guarantee my monthly bill won't contain an adjustment for being out of service 5 days and I certainly would expect receiving a adjustment would be a pull out my hair, agonizing act of congress,a road I wouldn't consider even attempting to go down. It's just that the timing of this latest outage is going to cause me undo aggravation that I don't need,if the MFKNG line could have held on until after Mon. my anger would be lessened to a large degree.
