Topping Mephisto autoflowers

Mephisto Alien Vs Triangle at various stages of growth. I didn't top but I did lightly train. I had 4 of them and I yielded 1LB of hard nugs. I top photos but I don't top autos because they don't have enough time to recover. Would I have yielded more these AvT if I topped them? No. I wouldn't have. I experimented with them and none yielded like the 4 that I lightly trained. Topping autos can go either way and it has everything to do with genetics and almost zero to do with technique. I have about 10 years in experimenting with autos. The most important thing I learned in 10 years of growing autos is to leave them alone and let them grow. I trim out the peach fuzz at the bottom, but that's about it.

Thanks for sharing your experience. That plant has a great shape, nice even canopy, so far I've only been able to obtain that with topping. But I'll try more training techniques.

Phenomenal my dude!

These next two Cosmic Queens I am going to do just that. Not gonna touch it for 3 weeks and then do some light training. I did an experiment with a freebie and you can actually force early flowering by stressing the plant. Genetics plays a role I'm sure but either way, best course of action seems to let them do their thing for 3 full weeks and then beginning week 4 you can do what you need to do. As I said, for my next grow I'm just gonna do a little LST and that's it.

Chopped skywalker tonight. Did a wet trim and now it's drying on the rack. Got 304g post wet trim. Surprised I got that much off it to be honest. Definitely had room for improvement and the nutrient lockout really hurt it but if I get 2.5oz dry off it, I would consider that successful. GWK will be chopped this weekend or slightly earlier. It's looking real great.

Root formation was great for the skywalker. All the way down and to the sides in the 3 gal fabric pot.

Chopped GWK tonight as I saw mostly cloudy and some amber trichomes. It just looked ripe. What's funny is that even though it was half the size of the skywalker, the buds were DENSE AS FUCK. It ended up with more wet weight than the skywalker. Got 344g wet off of GWK. Trimmed it up, and now it's drying on the cooling rack. Looks and smells absolutely fantastic. The skywalker was fine, and I'm sure will be perfectly serviceable but the GWK is on another level. Will post some pics if you guys want. Pre and post trim.

You trying out airpots? I really like them. I’ve been using a mulch on the top to stop it getting bone dry and the water just firing out the top holes.
I am. I have googled how to stop the water from running out the sides and never found much. I have just been watering at a snails pace to get by -_- i have thought of possibly using some old Hydroton balls on top, but wasn't sure it would make a difference.

Yeah slow watering is a must. A wee cheat is to give let’s say 500ml then wait 30 mins. Roll a smoke have a cup of coffee make the next batch then it seems to soak it up really well.

Might help, its just to stop the top layer becoming hydrophobic

I know what you mean xD It’s a labour of love in the end.

Finally got some mesphito seeds in the end. Was actually really easy on the Uk store. No crashes and took about a whole day to sell out.

Got this hubbabubbahaze going just now at 5 weeks old and I’m amazed at how many tops are on it. Just throws out branches here there and everywhere lol

I don't have the pics on my phone, but I'll try to find it here, i had an almost 4 ft tall Hubbabubbasmelloscope in a 2 liter soda bottle 2 summers ago. Was HUGE.
