Kind of got a Freak On, thinking I missed the start flower date and they are getting away from me.
Day 14/15 of 12/12 and running out of room.
This being my first true SCrog I am unsure how to manage it.
The laterals have outgrown the mainstems and are a lot thinner than the mainstems.
What the Fuck!
Way to early to do a defo, don't want to remove many fans yet, got 6 days to major defo but the plants are going ape!
With and without the lamps on.

Defo is going to be a motherfucker. But I love the way the buds look at this point in the game!
Gonna be tight!

It looks like you could use another ft of screen all the way around. My 1st screen looked worst than this, next time I flipped earlier and it turned out better, then I more or less gave up on screens and went for short independent units. Less product / sf but much less work, You know I like easy.
I don't want to rub it in but I did recommend flipping now a wk before you did. But hey thats history and I'm sure you'll find a way to pull this off.
I'm gonna try and get my current grow journal updated tonight from photos last wk. Been working to hard and need to retire.

Watt, the main problem with this grow is it was from seed not clones, so pheno phenos ranged in height. One plant lagged behind and I mistakenly waited to it to reach the screen. Live and learn even at my ripe age.
I am going to wait till after I do the 21 day trim and see what I can do to manipulate the plants to a manageable height. I know I will be cutting a lot of plant that I see not reaching/getting enough light. My lamps are at the top of the tent and I am working with around 17 " height overall. I am seeing the stretch slowing down so hopefully after the 21st day defo and tie down I will be ok.

Yield will determine if I do this style of grow again. My 4x4 is 1.5 sqm (16 sqft) The grow area of the round screen is just 0.9 sqm (9.6 sqft). In my regular horizontal grows I utilize 1.1 sqm (12 sqft).
With my vertical grows using the 5 screens I have a total of 0.52 sqm (5.6 sqft) per screen, so total area of the 5 screens is 2.6 sqm (28.0 sqft). This is a very fun grow method, lots of work though.
Now with my horizontal and vertical grows I have averaged over the past 6 grows, less the monster crop, has been 23 to 28 zips of jarred/cured smokable buds.
I hope the return here is close because it is a fun way to grow.

Day 19 of 12/12

Way thick growth, will begin the 21st day defo on Sunday evening, have a feeling this is going to take me at least two days to complete the defo and then I have to do a retie.

Keeping fingers crossed, everything has been running fine. Had a Ballast go out on one of my lamps but caught it early. Got a loaner from my hydro guys till they can get me a replacement.
Running low nutes and have removed only a few fan leaves to date, major defo starting Sunday.
They have pretty much completed stretch so I hope not to have to tie them down that much, but know It is going to require some binding.

Took about a 5 gallon bucket full off the plants done today.

Hope to finish trim tomorrow and then begin the tie down process.

Finished the 21 day defo. Pull a shit load off the plants. Still have to tie some of the longer branches down a bit and probably remove some more larf, will play that by ear.

Pics later after lights on, want to see how they respond to the trim after 12 hrs or so.

After lights out this morning I did more bending and tying down. Thinking of tying them down in a counter clockwise direction.
The ones I tied down yesterday morning, the lower buds are already showing good growth.

20201006_110456_LI.jpg

The apex of the buds that were tied down have begun to turn upwards. It really amazes me that the plants respond so quickly to the lamps. This pic is after only 12 hrs of light and have turned up about 90 degrees
20201006_111717 (3).jpg

There are three Wedding Cake that are fairly stable height wise, except one that I am having to tie down. The single Mimosa EVO has totally different growth patterns, more leafy, tall and being tied down. Hope to be able to manage them properly.

That's it till the next time.

Tieing down buds to achieve an even canopy is working fairly well. I know I will have to tie down more but I think I have it under control. "He says with a weary smile."

Looks like these are going to be fairly frosty, 3 weeks into flower and trichs covering the leaves.

Day 35 12/12

Things are going well, been cleaning some undergrowth, running low nutes w/4 water cycles/12 hour lights on period. This is my last rez worksheet, I lowered the A&B, increased the Calimagic and added the 5th week Liquid KoolBloom. The 21 gallon rez last 6 to 7 days and will run the Liquid KoolBloom for another rez following this one.

Still have more undergrowth to remove, will do that the remainder of this week. At present just removing fans that have over an inch of Petiole and blocking other bud sites.

Day 43 12/12

Only removing fans that block bud sites, but it is thick in there.
Went on a 4 day weekend trip and my buddy came to check the pH and adjust as needed. I have been setting my pH @ around 5.9 and letting it float. It has been very stable, not going up near as much as some of my grows. He only had to adjust it one day and actually he could have let it go another day.
Still running the low rate of Liquid KoolBloom, this is the second rez started at day 35 and will run it till I empty this rez, then go back to reg. feedings.
For being 6 weeks into flower they are getting heavy on the trichs.

Wedding Cake
20201027_090159 (2).jpg

The plant at the very front is the Mimosa EVO, the other three plants are the Wedding Cake. You can see the sativa leaning Wedding Cake is not near as compact on the stem as the Mimosa.
20201027_090244.jpg

I am thinking three possibly four weeks to go, will harvest the upper buds first and give the undergrowth another week or so. The Mimosa EVO will be heavier than Wedding Cake. The WC is more sativa like while the Mimosa seems to be more indica like.

My helper is growing all Mimosa EVO this grow and has taken a number of clones that I will be growing this winter. I have been growing the Wedding Cake and one Mimosa this grow and took clones from the Wedding Cake for him to grow this winter.
Unsure of the method of grow for this winter, will not be vertical unless the clones are more symmetric. So will either do just a 4 to 6 plant horizontal and tie down the buds or try another SCrog using the same method I am using now, the Lazy Susan. It will depend on the weight of this grow, if I can get the weight I will go with this method again, if not I will look at my other two methods.
I should have added another screen on top of this screen and will if I go this route again.

Thanks dude, this has sure saved a lot of wear and tear on my back.
I let it get away from me because I really did not know what I was doing. I think I have it figured out now.
I will be mosey over and check your latest. Looks like I am a few weeks away, need to do a flush this weekend as I have been running low runoff DTW.

Day 49 12/12

This week was the last week of adding Liquid KoolBloom, now I will boost A&B back up and increase the N just a bit. I am still way under Canna's grow guide rates.
Getting very frosty and fattening up.
Today at my last irrigation cycle for the night I added three gallons of RO to drop the EC from 1.66 back down to 1.58, I will run this rate of A&B for the next rez change and then begin reducing the N as I get into the final weeks of flower.
Only removing any fans covering bud sites, and moving stems to get better light to the plants.

Todays minor flush was partly to prevent any further tip burn and try and get the 5th week slump over rapidly. Noticed in past grows that around the 5th week after running either PK13/14 or Liquid KoolBloom that I get a bit of lockout, trying to get the plants back actively growing again. Have not really notice much growth slow down this run just want to be a bit proactive.
Till next week, keep the lights bright and wear you UV glasses when working in the tent.

wk 5 or 6 i give them a quick 24 flush. only water them to much run-off at lights on, 6 hrs later, do it again. seems like it's a good slap on the face to get them ready for the finish!!! lol

lookin great! frosty!!

With every rez change I save a bit in the rez then add the RO.
I like the idea of doubling up the flush, when the lights come on tonight I will give them another quick flush, then go back to regular fertigation cycles after that.

I quit measuring the runoff, keep you solution consistent and get your runoff, simple that is it. Flush to prevent buildup and all is good.

man, DTW is the best thing i've ever done. it's kinda got boring !! unless you get an equipmnt failure, it's plug and play
