forgive my lack of knowledge on guns, but are there not fully automatic weapons with 30 rounds in the clip available? i'm almost certain that there are, and that they serve a purpose meant for a battlefield rather than self defense or hunting.
Available to whom? Legally transferable full-auto weapons are few and traded like commodities. Big money.

Full-auto AKs, $14 500 or $16 500.

Also, since 1934, there have been two documented cases of homicide involving a full-auto weapon ... not counting sudden realignments of the table of organization in units in 'Nam ... cn

ok, so fully automatic weapons with 30 rounds in the clip are available. should they be? i thought the whole purpose for civilians having guns was either self defense or hunting.

i suppose if you needed to feed a village and ran across a nice pack of deer it might be handy.

I would think the thieves are the bigger part of that problem. I could suggest outlawing theft, but they've got one hell of a lobby. cn
It's a little like cannabis my friend. The more people know what you have, the more they talk, the higher the chances go of you getting robbed or popped.

I had a stooge at my house pull his piece so he could show it off. He found out quick he wasn't the only one carrying in a room full of strangers. It's bozo's like him that become targets because they run their mouths trying to brag about what they have. Next thing ya know your house is robbed.

over my dead body will they take my guns. they just need to keep them out of the hands of the mentally ill. i really like how in michigan govenor snyder is considering allowing legally concealed weapons in schools and churches. if one of those teachers or someone in the school had a gun and went through the proper training, this may have ended better. guns are not the only weapons. what about bombs, knives, and poisons? im strong for bearing arms for the most part, but unfortunately there are a lot of idiots in the world these days. humanity has really went down hill. people who own guns need to be smart and keep them away from any friends or relatives that are mentally disturbed. i never keep my guns locked but i also never have anyone with mental problems or thieves over. where i live almost all kids are trained to use guns at a very young age. my whole life growing up at any age i had access to my parents guns. we were raised to never touch until we were old enough learn. i'ts terrible that these days parents have to lock things up from their kids. i mean how hard is it really to listen to your elders and be a good person for the most part? and who says we can't smoke a little or a lot of weed while we're at it besides the several anti-pot fags in the federal government.

also the reason i dont lock my guns are because a thief could just break in your gun case. friend of mine years ago had all his hunting rifles stolen out of his locked gun case just from leaving home for a few days. i shit you not they actually used a cutting torch to get in the all steel gun safe. cops never found them.

but a spoon has purposes other than making people fat, guns are made solely for killing.
not really. about once or twice a month a friend and i go to his camp. i usually bring my ar-15. this gun was never bought for killing. now my semi auto 12 guage, that is made for killing only in the self defense in my home. really hope to never use it for that reason. otherwise i do kill skunks and red squirrels if they get too comfortable in my yard. live by the woods so get all kinds of critters. dont want the dogs and cats to get sprayed.

seriously though, who wouldnt want to shoot the shit out of an intruder or intruders that came in threatening your family.
my neighbor had to do that once, haunted her for a decade.

you'd have to be a psycho to want to, and you seem to fit the profile.

The point of the 2nd amendment is to protect us from our government. Not for hunting. Therefor we should be able to legally own the same guns the police/military use. And do not resort to "oh so you want nukes too" because that argument is ridiculous.

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government"
