why not jsut add a packet of grape koolaid to your gallon of water.......
Because I already buy shittons of cheap brand crystal light grape and fruit punch and always have it kicking around...just going to take a couple buds with the stems when I harvest and put them in a cup full and see what happens...worst case it fucks it up hardcore and I lose an 8th.

YO here AT EPIC GROW TIME, WE LIKE OUR BUD TASTING LIKE LIQUOR, and BACON.

SO FIRST I GET A BAG OF SOIL. DOESNT MATTER WHICH SOIL, AS IM GOING TO ADD A GALLON OF WHISHKEY,AND SOME BACON STRIPS, AND SOME BACON STRIPS,AND SOME BACON STRIPS,AND SOME BACON STRIPS,AND SOME BACON STRIPS,AND SOME BACON STRIPS,AND SOME BACON STRIPS,AND SOME BACON STRIPS.

THEN WE DEEP FRY THE SOIL MIXTURE, GRIND IT UP, AND SHIT IT IN.

THIS IS HOW EPIC GROW TIME IS DONE SON.

(disclaimer, no plants actualy survived in this soil. please do not attempt this at home.)

ooo...didn't think of that one...ok then, artificially flavored grape drank it is then :D
OK, to be clear here, plants naturally contain some sugars. I think even tobacco leaves do as well.

I don't think smoking a little bit of sugar is going to hurt you. . .or at least not more than smoking ANYTHING does.

Grape sugar is just pure glucose (aka dextrose). The stuff itself is totally harmless. But when burned it caramelizes and eventually turns into carbon. Again, by itself that won't hurt you, but its just that much more soot you'd be inhaling into your lungs to get trapped by lung macrophages and/or cough up later.

Isn't that a key reason for fermenting tobacco (and curing bud) ... knock the sugars way back?
Sugars and glycerin are the classic harshness-generating molecules. Upon destructive distillation (from the heat of smoking) they yield acrolein, which is refined essence of nasty. Folks love to talk about starving/flushing a plant to get rid of the taste of nutes, but I suspect reducing the sugar content is more to point. cn

I think this will probably "work", and you wouldn't need to use/lose so much as a full 1/8th.

This is my suggestion.

Take one bud, maybe one from a lower stem that probably wouldn't be so great anyway, then cut it off with a long stem with a sharp razor with the cut made at an angle, just like you were taking a clone.

Drop the stem immediately into a pre-prepared cup of your favorite "beverage", mixed up at 2x strength. Preferably you'd use one with a dark color, so you might get some chance of seeing what was happening. You'd also want to use one with NO SUGAR.

Then let it sit for a few days up to a week in a semi-warm place with light to make sure the plant stayed alive and was transpiring water.

Unless you want to pasteurize it, and keep it covered from air, don't let your plant sit in an actual sugar solution (for example real grape juice) at room temp for more than two days, because you will end up with fermenting wine, and the whole thing will be nasty.

Then dry, cure, smoke.

I like smoking fruity/flavored things...ergo why i smoke menthols and not regular cigarettes...so grape flavored weed would be right up my alley...and Jogro, thats what I was planning on doing :)

This is an excellent point, and you are correct that one of the main purposes of curing is to use up and break down residual plant sugars, which yield a harsh smoke.

Acrolein is nasty stuff, but so far as I know, ordinary grape juice should contain zero glycerol.

Glucose combustion is an ordinary metabolic process, indeed respiration is just oxidation of glucose to eventually yield CO2 and water, right? Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think doing it by heat should create any particularly dangerous byproducts.

All that said, again, I'm not all that keen on the idea of adding flavoring agents. Its called "herb" for a reason.

Awesome.
Be sure to take pictures and post the results.
You could also do a compare/constrast of the celery stalk flavoring method, vs. the "dunk whole bud in kool-aid" method, and see if either (or both) yield good results.

EDIT:
Short of using a synthetic/artificial bacon flavor, I have no idea how you'd go about creating bacon-flavored weed.

Dipping it in bacon fat? That would be awesome. . .to EAT. . .not to smoke.

Maybe you could cure the bacon AND the weed together at the same time.

Then, you'd end up with bacon flavored weed, and weed-flavored bacon!
