What size pots (final size for flowering in) are best for cloning?

Jorge Cervantes says 3 gallon for up to 3 month old plants (from cloning date) yet my local hydroponic man swears up and down everyone is using 2 gallon. I bought the two with some hesitation, can still swap 'em.

I did hunt a bit for an answer, no luck.

So what's your experience?
