I can can barely remember the name Tamale~ and I do love them so.... I live up near canada on the east coast.... Access to real tamales is very limited.

Nation icon bro...At the peak of their popularity in the 1970s, 40 million Chiko Rolls were sold annually in Australia, ................pretty good considering our population back then

I love Mexican food.
My friend who is Mexican (half Mexican)Half German.Sometimes i call him beanershnitzel
He explained to me in Mexico depending on the region the food changes from one part of Mexico to another.
I find it a little odd though if you get a tamale from Mexico city will be different than one you might get in Tijuana.
My favorite is enchiladas smothered in tomato sauce and goat cheese with spanish rice and refried beans covered in goat cheese.Hot sauce and corn totilla chips with the meal.

My wife has a friend who lives in Australia a couple of years ago we sent her some things from the US that can not be had in Australia.
One was a giant bag of Reeses peanut butter cups.
Another thing they have never heard of in Australia to my understanding(correct me if im wrong) Is ice cream sandwich's,
I gotta ask. What kind of country doesnt have Reeses peanut butter cups and ice cream sandwich's?
Oh and by the way..the nice lady raved about the peanut butter butter also we sent her.
I dont think i could exist in a country without Reeses peanut butter cups or peanut butter.Id die.
All the goodies we Americans make with peanut butter probably do not exist in Australia.
We would all die there. Our bodys would shut down and go into shock without it.
The same as the Aussies get beer rations in the military so they dont shut down from DTs when they are in other countrys. Our guys get peanut butter in their rations.

Homemade Tamales

Lot of work, but making tamales gets our family together during the holidays and they taste so good. We use a red beef chili that takes my Mom a day to prep before assembly. We also add a green olive before rolling it up. We made 40 dozen last Christmas.
Same recipe for over 100 years and well worth all the effort.

hey max420thc, I like mexican food too :D

last night, I made a mexican soup. Pork posole! It was really good, though I admit it doesn't look appetizing...but hey, its soup! Normally, the soup doesn't include lentils and barley but I added them for some substance. The yellow things are golden hominy. Theres also some diced tomato and jalapeño in there.

Hey bro i love mexican food aswell , my dad's best friend owned a few mexican restaurants around hear .
We grew up eating there all the time , he used to get the blankets or whateva of the walls and cover us kids so we could go to sleep .
After all my folks used to stay way past closing time , Then he (the owner/friend would sit with us all and have his chefs bring out more food and goodies
while him and my folks got blind every night ..
It was fun tho , i could walk through the kitchen and stuff when ever i wanted to see how they cook stuff . plus go up to the office and play games on his pc !

Thought I recognized the hominy. That looks good especially on the cold days we're having lately.
