every once in while i will find small chunks of white stuff in my bud. it crushes very easily in your fingers and turns to powder. its not coke or nothing like that. seems to appear more in beasters or lower quality strains. is it a mineral build up or something from over fertilization???

I would put my money on an under-developed seed. They are white, crack easily, if the buds been dried reall good could crumble. And they don't really look like seeds

Hey i know this is an old thread but ive found the same thing in a few orders i bought in between harvests. (I like to try a few strains before buying seeds) anyways, im just curious what everyones thinks because im not sure how the perlite would be inside buds grown in hydro? Ive grown for a while, in soild before switching to hydro so im quite familiar with perlite. The little pieces ive found inside the bud absolutely resemble perlite, i just havent heard of very many people growing hydro in perlite. I suppose i HAVE heard about some people preferring to grow in a hydroton/perlite mix or in a coco/perlite mix but it seems to be an uncommon thing IME. Considering all of this, im just not sure how perlite can be making it way up into the buds in the first half of flower, especially without being noticed. Any thoughts?

Bro. One time I brought a nug to a friend's to use his digital microscope.
We saw what looked like a cluster of caviar. Like wet/black/round egg looking bumps...

Zoom out, and it's clearly a little brown piece of tobacco. Clear as day lmao
