An autoflower that won't flower

It's not the light they need more food esp. N, Mg & micros.
Alright man, thanks! I'll try adding some more of the "grow" from Biobizz which has the higher N-ratio.

I've never had a plant this big in the 2x2 before, so light intensity or light and food relation hasn't been a problem I've ever stumbled upon.
So you're saying that as long as the feeding is on point, there's no such thing as too much or too intense light?

Cheers!

yes there's too much light but Cannabis can take really much of that. If you're not over 1500ppfd no point looking into that.

high light causes higher growth rates demanding more nutes or the plant will just take that out of its leaves and get chlorotic/yellow

Man, that's a gorgeous looking plant! So green and bushy :D
How old is it? And what strain? .. And what light are you using + the distance from the tallest colas?

Cheers!
It's Mango Isle from Daz ar Night Owl. 46 days from sprout and 10 days since she started to flower. My light is a Timber 4VS(420 watts) and give or take I'd say the light is 14"-16" from the tops so it's only on halfway. I'd love to turn it all the way up, but no more room to raise the light.

Mango Isle, sounds tasty! :D
"Ranges from watermelon and strawberry bliss to citrus, mango, and papaya."

Regarding the light, I have the same issue with this one - can't raise the light any higher and currently the tallest branches are approx 10" from the light, which is why I'm thinking of dimming it down to 90% or something like that. My light is on 18 hours, so maybe that's causing more damage than good if it's 10" from the tops, on full blast, for 18 hours per day.. But I'm not sure(?)

My intuition tells me that the plants don't like the light intensity. the fan leaves that are above the trellis/scrog all have tip burn and the leaves closest to the light are fading in color.

The fan leaves on the lower part of the plant look perfect - no signs of deficiencies, yellowing, burnt tips - nothing.

Starting to look quite unhealthy here.. faded color, burnt tips..

I wish i would have known that topping(like i did here) and trimming all the inside/lower(like i did here) would stress and stunt my autos...:D
Same lol

Took like whole bag of lower nodes and leaves off the bottom two or three sets of branches a few days ago. Can't even tell lol. Im a few days behind you. Like day 38 or 39 from germ. i flowered a little earlier. We should have had a race bruh.

It's looking good! Way more healthy than mine :)
With all those tops, you'll have a nice harvest!
Cheers. who would have thought that all that came from four nodes. 8 Big Fat Colas lol.

I'd be interested to see what the intensity is at the top of your canopy. I ended up about 8" away from a 240w quantum and it did its fair share of damage over week or two. Supercropped twice to no avail. Was an auto that also took its time to start flowering. Ended up having to upsize from a 150cm to 180cm height enclosure quick smart. I find the extra heat and light also adds to the stretch compounding the issue furthermore. It's like a double deal.

My kind of plant. I habe TRIED and TRIED to naturally grow just 1 auto, but every time i will top and trim her the day pistils start to appear i can not help myself. Clearly... it works though.

Currently the cola in the middle, which is closest to the light receives ~1150 PPFD.

I really started to notice these issues when the tops stretched closer than 14" to the light.
Maybe I'll have to find a solution like you did to get some more light distance. Or would you say that dimming the lights could solve the problem as well?

Yeah, throughout the cycle of this plant, I've also defoliated and topped (although only by accident) a lot.
The plant is completely naked under the trellis.. haha :)

I have finally managed to grow a single auto without abusing it and hacking half the plant off. It's at like week 6 of flower now.

And funnily enough it ended up by far the smallest plant I've ever grown. This is in a 2x2x4 for Christ's sake..

You could dim the light or drop the hours to lower dli for sure. The issue is that 1100 umol/s up the top will do fine at 12 hours, but the lowers will be getting next to nothing. It's a tricky situation. You could try lower it to 900umol/s to try save the tops and see what the lowers are getting. Do some heavy defol and try increase penetration.

The issue at that proximity also becomes the radiant heat. The sun will regularly hit 1500umol/s and above, but there's better air circulation, less duration and less radiant heat (sorta combated though by the much higher far red).
