I Havnt updated in a while thought i should! My babies are looking good both of them have showed their sex (female :D) both transplanted and gradually lst. My mates dog knocked the bigger one off the table but luckily only 1 fan leaf broke a few little leaves and a bit of scaring on the stem (you can see broken leaves in the picture) but its still looking great! and the little one has a little bit of heat stress on the older leaves but all the new growth is looking good!.. besides the deformity of my little one.. ill try to find a picture..

One is my bigger plant looking sexy, and the other is new growth of my small plant, few days after it got hot so no idea what caused it, mutant plant?

Hey tbanga,

Looks like she will make it bro, no probs if you don't punish her. I doubt its a 'mutant', she's suffered though im not the guy to state why. Are you running them entirely outside?
Had to haircut the mums yesterday and root pune. I reckon I pulled 3 shopping bags of leaf and stem out and 1 or 2 bags of roots. see if I can load the pics

and after... bear in mind most of the leaves here were under 2ft of canopy yesterday. Usually I'm more careful about where I cut but this was more like a hedge.IMAG0178.jpgIMAG0177.jpgIMAG0176.jpgIMAG0175.jpggive em a few days you won't know they've been trimmed.

Word up bruvs.
Tbanga looking good as always., I thought you had them roped and bent alot more.
Hey miyago I love the stumps mate looks like a forest after loggers have come through haha good chit mate.
So I got an update, well for starters I'm up for a new 1k ballast due to blowing one up.. my own damn fault. I knew of a sketchy little lightleak I had but the room rarely sees light in the dark period so it don't bother me much. Well I needed to do some work with the light on so I chucked a towel over the hole and also covered my ballast to and I forgot to remove the towel, anyways it lasted nearly the whole 12hr cycle but I noticed it was off before it should be, and then realized I f'in blew it! Could have been bad if the towel caught fire.. Lazy stoners live n learn. (turns out when I removed the towel I had already patched the hole a while back, I just plain forgot:(:) fuck!
So I took the plants from that room and pit them outdoors which was the opposite as i run the lights at night. This was a week or 2 ago, and today during inspection I noticed that they all busted herm on me! Big fat calyxes full of seed, I don't really mind considering. I've got a good insight into what each plant is bringing to the table with frost/structure/aroma/flowering speed.
I've got 2 picked to take back to their kush mum, frost and aroma are no shit on these, very much the tropical mango sativa side, from this I'm after a tropical smelling kush plant.
When it comes to the pollen, it is from a female plant, but the plant was stressed, if the tropical kush was of priority to me I would re-veg the pollen donor and run her again in optimal conditions and see how stable she is. (however I'm sure I'll fund something even more superior as I've got a bunch of beans still to go through from the original cross.
I also had some kush plants that I put out aswell but they werent as far into flo, I've checked them over and not a single nut, very stable so a bx back to the kush mum would serve to further stabilize anyway(IMO lol)

I've also got a nice lil pile if sperm saved up from my 'big mac' stud, that BC big bud x mikado btw anyone who is interested. He is the only big Mac I've got up out if the soil so far so I'm definitely preserving him and he's going over my kush for sizeable ultra indica nugget heaven:)

The bean cracking I've narrowed down to Yarkoum, C99 and bmr x ssk will be hitting the glass today:)
The AK f2s are tempting, I wish someone would grow them out make the selections and send the f3s back to me haha:)
Oh and a pack of swt tooth#3 x puple joy/blue dabney sitting here for one of my c,u,n,t brethren, all yours bro

Peace to the warriors of ganj:bigjoint:

Edit: btw the 2 lings I thought were LA con, one is actually the pineapple chunk, it was the most vigorous out the shell so far so meh'
Just dropped the beans into water 11 yarks, 10 cindys, 12 bmr x ssk, I'll update when they tail.
Also just harvested some more polly from the big Mac stud, from a top cluster cut I have in a cup of water over some paper.. I took this top cluster as I saw some were busting, so he is probably responsible for some of the beans on my sk/hz kush girls.
Peace

hey tran ordered a few more beans u may be interested in got the lemon stomper and a nightmare kush.
Nice mate I know you'll do big things with those.
I'm actually a little full up ATM, I even declined on popping my own Chem gear for now while I concentrate on a couple other things. I had a hard time not snapping CCs Tahoe og, shit comes with a free pack of o'giesel ATM.
Nice score on the nmk mate. That's one I would love to get some Yark males (landrace genetics) over, which is what I plan to do eventually with all the og/chem/kush I have available.
Im grabbing a 'tube pot' tomorrow I think that's what there called, (small elongated tubular pot) to get a nice deep root zone on one of the lime kush cuts:) Oh and I've still got a hard-on for the satori mate :)

@flyin'ryan- I'm making up a new organic batch tmos bro I'll let you know how it goes:)

Ive got a batch of SLH to pot-up, the Slh has climbed back up the priority list actually, it's just TOO damn stinky, sticky and straight up offensive not to work a lil more. It yields like a pig, stretches nicely and once in flo its just cruise control. The only things going against it is it fucking stinks, it stinks in flower and the buds reak so it can be tricky to work with, and also it's not my fave smoke lol, i'm getting old and mellow
Peace bros.

Satori=me=:)..
The lime kush nugs you'll produce in your system are going to be absolutely stomping, the type that go 'thud' when they hit the table. I can't wait to see you f## these puppy's bro hahaha..

I'm going to be back online soon enough c,u,n,t's, I got alot of purchases scheduled ATM, shit I need for the new room, filter, ducting, new ballast, not to mention I just dropped a gwop on a 60inch 'smart' tv lol, can't wait to watch the footy in 3D:)
Fark my lappy screen is cracked so I was using my desktop monitor then that went bung haha such is the life of a lazy stoner.. I'll get there bros
Well I think it's time for a choof:bigjoint:

Oh and your killing the laughing buddah bro, check it Ryano if your not already. FIWH showing c,u,n,t's how it's done

Hey all,

Tran mate let me do my homework on the mikado, or you can just spiel me the info but always looking for good male genetics. I think the traits of the male are too often overlooked/misunderstood. Now how you feel about full up bro! Like assuming it will pass on traits from a sister that was grown or smoked without looking at its own growth patterns, colour etc.
FIWH bro I'm sending your vanilla my love

subcool says he selects his males based on when they flower. the last ones to flower are the keepers apparently. cant argue with the guys results but you would think there has to be more to it than that.

Miyagi the mikado is some old Federation gear, one half of which went and started next generation seedco I think, very close to your heart bro with your BC connections. Mikado off the top of my head is Fed's version of 'spice of life' breeder Steves famous BC grapefruit clone, and Feds cotton candy is their version of SOL BSteves 'sweet tooth' series which is the grapefruit x DJs blueberry, then backcrossed back and numbered according bx3, bx4 etc.. (coincidentally Aussie hydro guy 'Al b Fuct' has been running swt#4 for near 10 years mono-crop) I grabbed these beans because of what have read around the boards, Fed produced some good chit some people's all time fave smokes, celestial temple, haw sativa, mikado regularly come up.
The mikado has a 'cherry pheno' which I attribute to NL influence (as in Ak47 Cherry pheno, sags cherry slyder are both heavy on the NL#5, the BC sweet pink grapefruit clone is speculated to be an old NL selection. Anyways just a theory of mine from the information available.
I think the Mikado male used was an f4 i think it says in the seed descript, so heavily inbred should make for a strong f1 hybrid. I have been careless with these beans and have wasted about 15 for 1 tri-foliate mutant runt male (who has grown into a big fruity stanky pretty-boy. I like his foliage its kind of dense and velvety, he's got purple candy stripes on the stem and nuts. But he is basically an untested runt:).
So it's more of a preservation at this point with suitably interesting mates as I might not ever get another seed up. However I aint fucking around anymore:) and the beans are going straight into warm kind soil, they've all basically tailed in paper towel so far but are just too weak when transplanted and fizzle out. Due to the age and probably storage of the seed.

Mate your pretty spot on with your theory in males. The best males imo are from stable IBL lines where you look/smoke his sister and you know what you have, you know the dominant traits that it's bred for, and also inbred P1 stock make for hybrid vigor when crossed. For me it depends on what I'm trying to achieve. It may be as simple as crossing 2 strains because both there names combined will make for 1 killer strain name (lol) Or maybe you like everything about a plant except it stretches too much so you are 'improving' a strain. There's just so many variables IMO bro, if i am just looking to give my kush a better/tropical flavor I make the cross and search the beans for the one that has the desired traits. If I wanted to do this on a commercial scale to release a stable F1 hybrid then line breed both parent lines that when combined produce positive dominant traits in stable seed form.
Shanti and nevil from mr nice selected the best smoking female from 100s of NLxhz and crossed them to hzxsk males also selected from 100s then tested the results in 100s to choose the right male, basically using more then 1 male but still 1:1 mating and smoke testing the results before choosing. These strains are SSH and Mango Hz. I think choosing the male depends on the situation.

And I'm smoking haze atm:) sorry for the ramble heheh

So here are some of my thoughts for the night - my gf has hidden my stash so I don't continue to smoke all day every day...I feel like my thoughts aren't flowing as freely without mj...so you get alcohol fueled thoughts instead.

Why I previously asked if there was any Australian breeders...was to see if there were already some Australian 'name strains'.

I would like to see some Australian known strains start making an impact.

Shit, I hate writing when not stoned...

What I am trying to say is, should we join forces like TGA does with their breeding projects (i.e. if 5 people grow out 10 seeds each, we are likely to find a keeper male and female to breed with)...

Anyone keen...

As I already see that there is a bit of a group going with the a.c.u.n.t.:hump: following...would that be a good place to start? Or do you guys already have breeding projects going on?

Will do some more thinking and write up a better post once inspired by the wonderful herb known as cannabis...
