Hi all, been reading this site for a little while, this is my first post and i am about to venture into the growing game, i've been smoking and paying too much for shit food these days and i'm done..

I need advice from you guys on here please, on the best equipment you can recommend to do the job, i'm cool with 1-2 plants in this setup. I really want to keep it stealth, like have it in the corner of my room and the Mrs doesn't know i'm growing in there, type of set up.

I'm thinking of getting a 300w-450w full spectrum led, rhino carbon filter, some type of extractor, fans and anything else needed to get the best yield and quality buds.

The dimensions inside are 72cm height,45cm width, 27cm depth.

Let me know what you would do with this box?

I've attached a pic so you can see what i'm working with...

Thanks in advance

Looks easy to make light tight and hook hoses up to for ventilation, cover the whole front with carbon filter pads, they block light and smell

These plants were about 10" tops. A shaman reached 1 2" and only yielded a few g. But with lemon amnesia or sugar candy I get 7 g minimum off too small of a plant, and have gotten up to 14g. I have run these clones twice, and feel confident I can average 12g in the future, without larger pots. These are 1l air pots, and 1.5l prep table containers with a juice tray in the bottom.

I'm gonna experiment with 2gal air pots soon. I like having multiple strains, yet grow in a wardrobe.

On genetics that don't stretch, I dunk them for watering. For stretchy stuff, or stuff that yields poorly in tiny pots, I scrog.

I run 80w led's at 6" (2,000 ppfd) , 4" with no problem, but I avoid it. The narrow angle and ir/uv diodes mine has just sounds bad at 4" to me.

First two images are lemon amnesia that could have been vegged longer, I was too conservative planning for stretch. Was about 11g dry. could have been vegged longer.

Third image is a sugar candy. The nug in the picture was 2.3 g dry without including the little axillary nugs below it. Super duper dense. Not as leafy as it looked at all!

I do sativa or plants that need a long veg in 3+ gal pots and scrog. Sorry my camera blows. Stapler for scale. The tiny pots seem to control stretch. Oddly the sugar candy grows tiny leaves. Idk man. Not optimized yet.

What does that light actually draw?
Those look like 3 w leds max, I bet you can put it 3” from the plant without hurting it?

You can run it at 3" , I only keep it further because of the darn UV and IR.
But I think it was 79w? I figure 2w per diode when you subtract the fan and other losses.

Try adding some white leds or a cfl could help, bigger root mass will help too, start with a big pot and lit it rip 20 / 4, or even 24 / 0 if you aren’t getting enough light

It's ~2000 par at 6" so all good. I ended up disliking white led for veg, so I threw some in flower for added green light. They look like green leaves now, at the very least. Those photos are pretty old. I just don't like taking photos on this Amazon-malware tablet.
but yeah, I have green covered in the spectrum, and I can see like a normal person now. They seemed to have helped with leaf development too!

I prefer floros for veg, they are what I know. I need to re-buy t5's in a 24" arrangement , and it hurts to spend the money and go spend more to buy hortilux bulbs. But I was blown away by them.... They rock! 24/7 veg for me. My veg lights suck right now. Took 5yr off. Used to run 3,000w flower and 864w veg.

Took a fresh photo just for you. Unfortunately I lost 7/8 clones when the furnace went out a while back. I had literally GIVEN AWAY vegging zkittlez because I had no room. Oopsie!
Sugar candy clones I flipped earlier than I like, but knew I would be dry if I didn't flip. Shaman in the background was a mother that I didn't need to keep. Shaman will grow 3 nodes in the coming weeks. Shaman always has thick "carrot" looking roots, so I put it in a big pot this time.

Those sugar candies are well behaved though eh? Wk 4 since flip, 7" above the soil. It's my favorite strain to smoke, I have two other cultivars that yield better. These will probably yield only 10-12g, but those little popcorn buds don't shrink when trimmed.... Probably My densest strain, though the smell and flavor are below average. But damn, the high literally cures my depression...
this is my go -to strain, got ten clones on deck.

My armoire will soon be "double decker" now that I have three mothers that yield well in my setup.
Sorry for the shit camera sans flash.

these aren't yellow, the upper leaves are just slightly purple. IMG_20210202_234154_hdr.jpg.

Nice, it does seem to be dialed in for your small space. I took a while off also, so leds are a new twist for me, I’ve had some good experience with cfl’s in a small space so I’m excited to see what I can do with leds, and a decent sized space.

Ok, so back to my original box. The carbon filter kit that I purchased is too big for the box. Should I just leave that outside the box or try to add it to the top then cover it over? Any suggestions pls? Thanks

Yeah should be fine. Only concern is less surface area that can get dusty. But likely non -issue imho.

after about 4-6mo, I start noticing slight odors when the lights come on.

I have done the mylar inside my grow box, not the neatest, but it should do the job. Would you do 1 big (ish) pot or 2 medium in this size box?

ps..i was just testing the light on the floor in the pic.
Going to try one 3l fabric pot in here, but would like to know if I should do cfl bulbs or led bulbs for this setup??? Any input appreciated, thanks
