DIY with Quantum Boards

Funny I was researching this thread since the start and bought V1's in early 2018. Same idea for bringing to Canada.. I suppose at around the same time gml was in touch. I did eventually buy buy 4 qb96e from gml and he shipped me 4 little ( 5"x5") individual boxes, one in which had a big dent. I was so not impressed and returned buying from USA for the rest of my orders. Every order from the US was always packed properly. I would never order from Canada again.. If something went wrong, I feel I'm in the right hands with HLG USA.

I think it was before HLGcanada was even a thing, before GML was partnered with them as an authorized seller, I was trying to get places to contact HLG and carry their product in canada, because of the way they conduct themselves and the products they make - and of course documented grows done with them. I also contacted HLG themselves, asking about amazon.ca or some way we could get'em over here, haha.
The fact they offere(d) kits was a big thing for me too. The cost savings, and the diy/customizable factor (I love diy).

Now I buy direct from them at hlg.com though. Customer service is absolutely top notch.

I was reading this link and noticed that the comparison chart for the HLG 600 R Spec and the HLG 550 R Spec states that Samsung LH351H are the 660nm diodes that are incorporated into the QB 288 R Spec boards that are used for each light.

What does everyone think? Is HLG using LH351H for the 660nm diodes on the QB 288 now (or are they still using Osram Oslon SSL for the 660nm diodes) like Samsung used to make the Diablo boards? Also, to add to the confusion, back in May @HolyAngel wrote on this thread that the R Spec boards he bought appeared to have Cree diodes for the 660nm monos.

Or is this just a typo and that description given was for the Diablo board specifications?

Hey @Stephenj37826 , any info on this?

I was just wondering what that daveybc guy was up to the other day, hah.
HLG.com has always packaged everything well, and I feel the same about'em.
End of transmission.

Someone asked about an HLG100 (I think) a page or so back that they'd "found" at a retailer that had blue and red monos. Are these available, can you share some info on them, any spd on them to share, are they an upgrade compared to standard 3 or 4k?
I'm considering several qb132's, but those "modded" monos versions looked nice.

Thanks.

EDIT: I went to the site and saw a pic it said QB188. Interesting. Everything is marked HLG and or Horticultural Lighting Group. looks like 1/2 a QB324

I see no reference to an HLG100, or a QB100 on HLG's website. So unless this is a Au. only product, then its a fake.

Yea, that's a little weird. Thanks @Barristan Whitebeard, and @pop22.
The images show branding and model info screen printed (that what it's called?) on the boards. Either way, I guess we'll find out if it's legit or if there'll be legal actions taken (if it's indeed fake or something). It'd think that'd be a big deal though, due to the actual "branding" that appears to be on the boards. It's one thing to just copy a product, then title the product listing/name the same as the product you copied (like the ali sellers, etc.)...

Not sure how you could miss this, without trying:

I have purchased from Aussie "Quick Bloom Lights" and am happy with my HLG 650R, as well as their responsiveness to questions.

The two lights being discussed are similar but not the same.

As you can see, the light from Quick Bloom Lights is a DIY kit. It uses a 188 diode board. 176 LM301H, 6 Osram 660nm deep red and 6 Osram 470nm blue diodes.

The HLG 100 that you linked is a plug and play light. The board used has 192 LM301H diodes. No mono-color diodes on this board.

The two lights also have different drivers. The Aussie light uses a dimmable Mean Well ELG-100-36A and the HLG 100 V2 uses a non-dimmable Mean Well OWA-90U-36-P1M.

Thanks for sharing your positive experience with Quick Bloom lights. I think they have been an authorized international HLG retailer for at least a couple of years.
