FFOF ( Fox Farms Ocean Forest ) made Simple - Autoflower

It’s got ingredients similar to FFOF except crab meal and a few other things but I am sure it would work fine as a mix to do the layering but definitely a myco charge and perlite . Put FGOF at bottom 1/2 or 1/3 of container .... sprinkle / spoon the myco complex on top then cover rest of container with Happy Frog . Dampen and you are done.

Xtreme Gardening MYKO is another good bagged microbial blend.
But if you can get a bag of light Warrior few tablespoons in between works just as good.
this stuff?

Wow ... that sucks tho .
LOL, I got lucky, I was there 15 minutes before he got there and I had 4 bags of FFOF on my cart already, and 3 bags of HF so I got what I needed... it did make me wonder if I was wasting my time with the HF, but I've used a mix of those two off and on for years, it's always worked for me.

yeah , but maybe call around and see if you can just find a nursery or hydro store .... I hate having things like this “ delivered “ to door.
but if you gotta then you got to do what you gotta do.
I just found it at ACE Hardware, they have 50 + FF products, Thx

OK ... late night and wanted to get this up .

Tip : Use similar peat based soil with FFOF when layering. Many problems occur with those using coco mixes ( example 70/30 ratio ).
Seen too many grows run into ph drift fluctuations since coco needs one way and soil another. Keep the base soil the same .

Here is a version for solo cup grows / seedling starts ( plug transplant ) .....
Regular red solo either alone or as an outer shell with clear solo cup inside ( in case you like seeing the roots grow ).
I used these on some cup comps but be aware that most cup contests here on RIU seem a bit like kindergarten with some growers.
I was floored by the Overthinking and EXCESS bottle feeds for a Stupid Cup ! You can get some decent cup grows from this layering
method.

Version 1

C3724A35-236F-41F2-AF44-9F2CC1F01E60.jpeg

Pretty self explanatory.... this a dry fert enhanced mix . You can use Megacrop / Dr.Earth life 5/5/5 / Gaia green / Flower Girl or myco inoculant .
1 tablespoon ( 1-3 gallon pot ) -
2 - 3 tablespoon for 5 gallon

This will feed for quite awhile and will be perfect for auto grows ( 90 days )
Top dress FFOF as needed later in grow ( optional )

Version 2

This an all FFOF BASE except of ( light seedling mix core ) with rooting powder or myco at bottom. Perfect for straight to seed planting / clone / rooter plug , etc.
Emerging seedling has a mild “ sandbox “ to start grow then allow acclimation before FFOF .
Less shock to young seedlings instead of right into FFOF alone . Plant containers can be plastic , fabric , airpots , bags or whatever.

Picture 4, what week did you remove the fan leaves? I am doing your clone method as we post, it is day 3 and they are still alive, lol

Someone contacted me about Vermiculite..... It tends to hold water a little longer and keeps moisture close to roots but I still want the drainage and aeration over Vermiculite.

But when I run hempy ( Dutch ) buckets I mix a 3:1 ratio of Vermiculite/ Perlite For use.
( may do a thread later on that ).
I add vermiculite to add the diversity in the soil for the microbe populations.
I mix it at the end of mixing everything else to avoid damaging it.

Honestly i don’t remember exact week i chopped since it was a 12/12 grow from seed for a cup comp.

You know im glad you brought that up ( fucking dawg ) ... i literally looked to see the difference in ACTUAL soil between that error , it was literally about a shotglass more. And the kiddy pool went ballistic.

I actually lurked that thread AFTER .... and you seen the continued finger pointing and loose oversight, it was train wreck . Accusations of light modding , if players ” vegged ” first instead of 12/12 , remote watering , etc.

You know you witnessed it....... lol

If all I get dinged on was an 18oz cup instead of a stupid similar 16oz. cup , then I’m good.

It is quite a show.
I have two goals this year. Keep them green and hopefully surpass my dry weight of 15 grams.
I ran my 288 v2 at full power last time throughout the comp.
I need to dial it down this time in the early stages.
I have a solid supply of fresh EWC so I should have a good time competing against the soil growers this year.

Yeah im sure you’ll surely get past 15 on the solo.
Seems kind of funny , now a days with quantums that we have “ to dial it down “ when I remember my old ballast had TURBO setting or SUPER !
EWC is a great amendment , and kelp meal , Humic.

Are you going to run some SOLOs to test ?
Awesome way to test mix. Hell now you got me thinking about it .... lol.

But no longer interested in “ cup dick swinging “ comps .... you and i know there “ many ways “ to favor your odds and who gonna “ really “ know ?

Ringer grows , 24/0 initial start , auto switch .

Speaking of that .... one could throw a dwarfy / lowryder auto into a cup comp ( even tho they say regs only on 12/12 ) and pretty much decimate the other players . Those one big donkey dick plants.

If you do that .... I don’t KNOW SHIT ! Lol.

I should start testing soon. I'm going to run a couple with FFOF to test along with my soil.
I enjoyed the last comp I was in that Big Perm ran unfortunately I remember timing was bad for you to play.
Any light, any schedule any style as long as you finished by a certain date.
If I cared about winning a light and fair play and voting I probably wouldn't play but I get into the banter and upping my game competing against myself.

Kelp meal is my second favorite amendment after EWC.
Just bought a fresh 20 LB bag of DTE kelp meal. Very strong smell when I opened it so it should hopefully be good for 2 or more years.

Recharge day ! ....

Goji started showing a bit more hunger as she flowers ( leaf fade ) , so as expected ... time to top dress.
Still tap 6.5 ph as water in after dressing. Flowers are smelling sweet and stacking up with spiky pistils.

2 KKP were moved to flower and also got top dress to keep transition and preflower on track .
Some minor pistils are already showing and expect them to push forward soon.
Really loving all of the green since not shoving synth bottles down their throats to grow.

Great White will be “ watered “ in after this recharge has begun to dry again.
