Day 24 of 12/12

Things are rocking along. Magnesium issue seems to be under control now. The fungus gnats are few and far between. Lots of sticky ribbons has decimated their population and the benificial nematodes should be here today.

Looking like it could be a good grow. Hopefully the weed has a spectacular terpene profile. The buds are starting to get pretty frosty, I have high hopes for this crop.

Well no more time for me in the grow room. Back at work in Grande Prairie. I was hoping to be home for Christmas but when I checked into my hotel room tonight, I noticed my room is booked for me until January 1st.

Oh well. I might just stay in until February when I harvest. Gotta love the oil patch.

Day 40 of 12/12

So even though I am at 40 days of 12/12, I feel the plants are only about 30 days into the flowering cycle and have about another 40 days or longer to go. So almost half way there.

Starting to see more purple which is always something I like to see. I just think it makes the buds look better.

Trichomes are abundant and I am starting to have high hopes for this grow. I think the living soil is performing just aswell as the Chem nutes I used in the past and it is a lot easier on my wife who tends to the grow while I am away at work.

She fills the reservoir once a week and adds dry amendments once a week, that's it. The auto watering system takes care of the rest. This is definitely the easiest set up I have ever run..

Day 43 of 12/12
Day 33ish of budding

The buds are starting to chunk out a bit or as the wife likes to say they are getting nuggy.

I am still amending the soil with ¼ cup of Gaia Green 2-8-4 and a ¼ cup of Bokashi Pro-Gro every Saturday. Seems to be keeping the plants happy.

I haven't been pulling off many fans, the wife has instead been tucking them. I am doing this to try and not induce any stress to the plants in an attempt to avoid late bud cycle nanners. I absolutely hate nanners.

Here are some pics. :bigjoint:

Day 48 of 12/12
Day 38ish of flower cycle

The buds are getting really hard and starting to turn purple. I don't think this will be a super high yielding crop like the last one but if I get a couple pounds of tops and mids, I will be happy. I am more concerned about quality. I want this weed to taste amazing. Anything short of that and I will not be happy.

The fungus gnats are still in the room. The yellow ribbons have drastically reduced their numbers but they don't seem to be affecting the weed plants. I think they prefer the shallower roots of my cover crop.

At this point, I am thinking that I have another 30-35 days left to go.

So today I lowered my temp to 80⁰f, CO² to 1250ppm, humidity to 58% & night the temp to 60⁰f. Pretty much at the point of this grow where I will be throwing VPD out the window and focusing on terpene preservation. I will keep lowering temps, humidity and CO ² over the next week or so. Eventually My lights on parameters will have temps around 72⁰f, humidity at 50% and CO² down to about 800ppm.

Day 51 of 12/12
Approximately day 41 of the flowering cycle

Looking at these buds, I think the still need at least another month. Still putting on weight and tons of white hairs.

The smell though, OMFG it smells delicious lots of Kush influence in these plants. I just hope that smell carries over to the taste. I am getting very excited to try this crop.

Day 54 of 12/12
Day ~44 of flowering

I am thinking my next grow will be in this living soil. Everything has gone pretty smoothly and I really have no reason to not go this route again. I do think synthetic nutrients will get bigger yields in a shorter time but in the living soil, everything is so laid back. Just sprinkle in a ½ cup of amenities to each plant once a week and that's about it. Everything else is automated.

The buds are getting darker with more of them going purple. I just love the smell in there, it's a very musky, leathery, kush smelling strain. If the taste is good, this strain will be grown again someday in my room.

Day 57 of 12/12
Day ~47 of flowering

I think these plants will probably go the full 70 days the breeder has listed on their site. This will be flowering time not days of 12/12. I find counting this way usually gets the breeders timelines closer to what I find to be actual flowering times to be.

Things are going well in the room. I am really surprised how dark the plants are I figured that the living soil would be slowing down by now but I guess my mix was hot enough to get them through flowering without excessive yellowing or lightening of the leaves.

As the pictures below shows, I have quite a few fan leaves still. I didn't pick off as many as I normally do because I had figured the plants would have dropped them naturally with a weaker more natural soil than my usual Chem nutrients. But I was wrong I honestly was surprised to see them so healthy at this stage of flowering. Unfortunately it is definitely going to give me more larf at harvest but live and learn....I guess.

Got the camera installed in 5he room. It is only 3mp but let's me see what is going on in there. It does have a mic, a memory card slot, night vision and can pan around the room but I wish it had zoom, higher resolution and maybe a speaker so communication could be two way instead of one way but it's a cool toy.
