This tent is getting filled out! I'm having some sort of issue as you can tell by some of her leaves. I using a basic add drops and go by the color PH test setup with no way of measuring PPM. I will be ordering a proper ph and ppm pen combo. I am also going to start dechlorinating my nutrient solution for 24 hours since I am using tap water in case chlorine is the issue. I've been watering when the pot feels light which is maybe twice a week or so at this point.

The pictures today are from are before and after the daily tucking along with some pictures showing unhappy leaves.

I am having to get creative on where to tuck now. The back of the net filled in first so I had started to tuck towards the front. Every square of the net has at least one top except for the one in the very front left now. A top is only about an inch from reaching it though.

I did some more research into Masterblend and might not end up following the Soil2Coco feed schedule (their late veg mix just happened to be really similar to what I already use for my kratky setup and houseplants). I did some more research into Masterblend and similar (Jacks 321, ChemGro?), and it seems like most people just run the standard mix from seed to harvest. I am going to quit using the cal-mag (should not be needed with the calcium nitrate and magnesium sulfate used with Masterblend).

I have digital PPM and PH meters ordered that will be here Friday. Between dialing in my ppm, ph, starting to either decholorinate my tap water or use RO water from the store, and stopping using the excess calmag, hopefully she will make it all the way to harvest.

Speaking of dechlorination, I'm going to go fill my jugs with water to set out for tomorrow. It's earlier than I have been watering, I usually do it when the grow bag feels light, but I would like to get the chlorinated nutes with excess calmag flushed out of there ASAP.

I waited until today (when the pot felt light) to water again. I did a standard ratio but slightly light mix of 2g Masterblend, 1g epsom salt, 2g calcium nitrate and added in a 1/4 strength dose of flower fuel. I used the water that I have had dechlorinating since Tuesday.

One note, the flower fuel doesn't dissolve easily. It took a lot of shaking and left some black marks in my nutrient mixing jugs that persist even after my standard double rinse that I do. I added the flower fuel last after mixing up the masterblend. Is this the correct mixing order for a PK boost?

I now have digital PPM and pH meters. It turns out my nutrient solution pH is a little higher than I thought. I wasn't sure about the accuracy of the meter and she was thirsty so I fed anyways (pH was ~6.8). Later on, I did some comparisions with the meter and my pH drops so I will be adjusting it down a bit in the future.

I measured the PPM of the tap water that I am using and it came out 340. After mixing in masterblend, epsom salts, and calcium nitrate it goes up to 840. This is the strength I run from seed. I also added in a half dose of Flower Fuel but that didn't seem to affect the PPM much at all. The flower fuel does seem to have trouble dissolving completely even after shaking forever.

I added a clone I took from a bagseed kratky mother I have vegging in my window to determine gender and after debating on what to do with her now that I know she's a she I decided to let her hang out in a corner of the tent so I'll know if I want to keep the mother or not. Here are some pics from today.

Both plants are doing well. The most recent feeding I went up to a 75% dose of flower fuel. I have a kratky bonsai mother (bagseed unknown strain) of the clone in the solo cup and I also took cuttings awhile back from the Triple Cheese to have a kratky bonsai mother plant for her so I can run clones in the future. The Triple Cheese cuttings are just starting to show signs of starting to root. I swapped out the plain water they were rooting in for masterblend as I was tending to my kratky herbs (mint, basil, etc) today to try that.

Saturday, August 21st (Flower day 16)

The solo cup clone wasn't thirsty today but the big Triple Cheese was hungry today so I fed her 2g masterblend, 1g epsom salts, 2g calcium nitrate and .95g flower fuel which is about an 84% dose of masterblend and 75% flower fuel. That put me at 6.6 or so pH so I adjusted down a hair and it came out at 6.3. The ppm is 840 with the flower fuel not affecting it as much I think due to it not dissolving completely. We have had a lot of rain in the days since I last posted and the humidy outside and inside was very high due to that. I started learning about vpd and found a calculator online VPD limits calculator. With today's conditions inside the tent we have 72.9F and 62% humidity giving me a VPD of 1.05 kPa.

I also installed the second scrog net to help supporting what will hopefully be big heavy buds in future. I don't know if I mentioned it earlier in the grow journal but the only part of the Mars Hydro kit that I wasn't a fan of was the included trellis net. I am noob and it was a pain to use. I didn't really like how I had to attach it to the poles with zip ties. There were a few scary slips where I'm happy I didn't damage the tent trying to cut the zip ties off. It was also too big and I didn't know about just twisting them around to tighten the net. Either way I'm super happy with the replacement set I ordered from Amazon that is an elastic type material and attaches with hooks.

I haven't been running my carbon filter wanting to save it for when it's needed and there

I have been running Masterblend-Epsom Salt-Calcium Nitrate at 2.4-1.2-2.4 and my ppm comes out to 577. My water is 155ppm so 732ppm total. Im close to what you are running but your water has more tds. Im glad to read through your grow and see how well the nutrients are working. I've only ran this for 2 feedings now and have been wondering how well it will work with cannabis. I'll have to check into flower fuel. Not familiar with that.
Good luck completing your grow. I'll keep watching!

Thanks for checking out my grow. This is pretty much my first grow and it's been a learning experience. I really like the Masterblend but I'm not sure about the Flower Fuel. I don't like that the Flower Fuel doesn't dissolve completely and takes more mixing than the Masterblend. My plants seem happy though so I'm going to keep using it for now. Maybe in the future I can do a side-by-side comparison of with and without it.

Wednesday, August 25th (Flower day 20)

I raised the light today up to it's maximum without crossing the hangers or doing something creative lol. The light is about 15 inches from the top support net. If she is done stretching I will need to lower the support net since we are touching it but not growing through it in most parts yet.

There is still nearly no smell from the Triple Cheese, I am still running with my carbon filter disconnected. She is starting to develop some frost.

Monday, August 30th (Flower day 25)

Alright, so I watered again today. Did the same mix as previous and after pHing down to ~6.3 I'm at a hair over 1000 PPM. I think I'm going to go down to a half dose of flower fuel next time instead of 75%. It looks like a bit of burn on the tips but it could be from chlorine as I haven't been as consistent with decholorinating as I would like to be. She coming along nicely. Getting really frosty too.

She doesn't have much of any smell so the carbon filter is still unhooked. When I was lowering the support net and and working in the canopy my hands came out smelling wonderful fruity, and gassy (reminds me of some NYC Sour Diesel I smoked years ago). I can't wait until she starts really stinking. We have been having high humidity (mid 60s in the tent)so I added a fan on the floor as well to help with air circulation and cranked the exhaust fan up to max.

Making it to harvest is my goal since this is pretty much my first grow! I think she's a bit dense but I'm pretty sure it's too late to hacking any parts off lol.

Here's some pics of the solo cup clone too, I swear she puts off more smell than than the giant triple cheese she shares a tent with. Her bonsai mother is doing good in the window. My triple cheese cutting is still working on rooting too. It's slow going cloning in tap water!

Your plant looks great @lunari . Do you have any idea how much chlorine is in your tap water? I don’t let mine sit out to dechlorinate, but it’s ok to do that if you think it’s high. Cannabis does need tiny amounts of chlorine though.
You’re running a pretty high ppm up around 1000, but your leaf tips look good so it seems to be ok. Do you fert and then water, or are you feeding her every time you put fluids on?
