I’m unsure of how accurate this info is but I believe the real mimosa is clone only, but Barney collabed with Evo and released fem mimosa seeds. Unsure how genetically close it is to the clone, they claim it to be legit, the pheno I have rn looks promising, still waiting to see how she produces but mimosa in generally tends to be a 30%er when grown right..

sounds like urclone guy is hiking up the price bc of designer genetics, could be worth it if his cut is legit and produces the same numbers

A "clone only" plant is just a tasty pheno that someone discovered and started selling cuttings, it hasn't been bred and stabilized to produce seed. So then when you see someone selling seeds of a known "clone only" plant, they got a cut of it and did a little breeding to produce seeds-they won't be identical but some breeders do a pretty good job approximating the original.

Idk them, i believe my guy to be 100% legit, i wasn't questioning if the genetics are real, only i didnt understand the "clone only" or why they cost so much more then classic strains, but i really appreciate the heads up.

1st awesome thread ,your grow and methods look really clean and organized. All look the peak of health and it seems your really having fun , utilizing the amazing cannabis strains for their potential for you ! Anadoing this because you're passionate About growing and sharing Your method/results .

2nd In don’t know much but I’m vaguely sure you can Get Mimosa from symbiotic genetics .
Seeds of Horror carries their line And I’ve used them before recently. https://seedsofhorror.com/product-category/symbiotic-genetics/
They carry lots of pheno huntable exotics. They do have mimosa .


3rd clone only :: my understanding is someone hunted that Specific phenotype out of a large number of Regular seedlings And it was the “best”.
Then disseminated thspecific cut as say .. apple fritter.

because they hunted itif YOU get a Seed pack Of apple Fritter And pop 10 REGULAR beans if it .
it is not guaranteed look anything or produce anything or smell anything like that specific “ clone only “ Cut.

If the seeds are feminized, at least to me it would make sense that they would be more uniform in phenotype.

but yeah I have been seeing mimosa seed running around lately! and you hit the nail on the head
if someone does the work and finds the pheno, lets say like apple fritter, and they don't do the years of back crossing and genetics work (which even then you stabilize the genetics, fem the seeds, and still get slight variations of the original pehno) it would be safe to say cloning would be the only real way to maintain exact mirrored genetics of the mother plant vs seeding that mother plant and looking for her in her own seeds.

this particular one im running right now is showing me a more sativa side so im interested to see where it goes.

Okay so I think today marks day 37 from seed for the 4x8 room
there are around 12 plants that are 21 from seed
I have 38 plants total (6 are half dead)

Alfalfa sprouting in jar for Alf SST (great for flip, helps lessen internode space, dont use much in veg unless you have a leggy sativa that you need to control the height of, use too much and the plant looks mutant)

Big room ( 4x8 ) is getting some training today if I get my lazy ass up, after this joint....
and they will all be topped...
give em a week to recoup, and flip them!

give em 7 days @ 11/13 then defoliate
give em another 7-10 days and defoliate
then, let em do their thang

went in today and gave everyone a big ass haircut...
defoliation to open up the plants a bit....

at the end I show you how I LST/open em up even more...

Tools needed today...
big scissor - cut string
little scissor - poke hole
hemp twine - tie plant

no extra leaves were removed between these photos at all, simply tied down to the outside edges of the pots with hemp twine...

Love doing this for many reasons....
proper defoliation doesn't hurt the plant, it helps it. you can essentially direct where you want the plant to put its energy...
proper LST looks like its high stress but its really easy on the plants and gives them a workout...
balance in all things in life yeah? literally...
yin and yang....
some times low stress has high rewards for growth in not just plants but humans as well...
some times no stress relaxation has high rewards for healing in not just plants but humans as well..
theres a time and a place for everything...
im high and off track, I digress...

if you seek a canopy,
train your fucking plants.

super fun one, wasn't too heavy, chopped a little too early so might have missed out on some of its real effects... smelled great tho, best terps in the garden after the amnesia
