This is a funny thread because my youngest uncle used to steal street lights for his indoor grow, and even his electricity was stolen from him attaching his own gear into the grid directly by climbing up the pole outside. LMAO! (Nova Scotia... maritimers are best people on earth BTW despite my uncle lol.)

Edit: This story happened in like 1976 I think, just for reference.

Anyway, I think the whole lighting thing in cannabis growing is yet another sign of overthinking. Just give your plant enough to light no matter what technology to reach its genetic potential. Keep in mind that some lighting sources are less efficient than others and will cost you more on your electricity bill. Also some sources will provide more heat (good in winter, very bad in summer). It's not as big as a deal as the commercial corporate world have you believe.

I grew for years and years just with regular household LED bulbs from Walmart and dollar stores and such (check sig). My best harvest was just over 3kg of bud from light bulbs from 4 plants in a 5X5.

You sound like a total asshole who doesn't even bother to know who the fuck they're talking to. And it doesn't matter in the least to me, because I know many folks are a bit sceptical of my grow style, just like you. Ouch, it hurts so much. Lol

Get a fucking life dude. You need motivation. I suggest mountain biking (because it's my passion too!).

Well thank God I took pics when you didn't.!

Seriously dude, get your shit together. This was a "bad grow" when I didn't know the stretch of a new strain or the thinness of their branches. One day I woke up to find an entire 5X5 tent with every cola toppled like dominos. It was a painful experience and I spent an entire day lifting up each cola with a combination of string, and yoyos. I yielded 3 pounds and 1.4 ounces from this messy grow and also yielded more than 200 grams of bubble hash. Here is them at 3 more weeks!

You would think that when someone says there are dozens of side by sides showing hps losing every time, they would post one or two. Then when someone asks about them, others wouldn't respond for him by not supplying what was asked, then arguing for days about it no?

So thanks for stepping up where everyone else turned into shit humans who think they are better than someone out of the own falsities they created in their head.

Where did I say I got 7 pounds from my 5X5? I said just over 3 pound repeatedly. I'll do it again in my current grow still in veg below in my sig as well. It's not hard. Most experienced growers can yield 3 pounds from a 5X5. Even crazy messy grows! Lol

Edit: The bottom line is that anyone arguing about HPS vs LED is so ridiculous we should end that now. There is nothing secret or nefarious about LED, and it will not generate waves that will turn you into a liberal who believes in freedom for all society and people on earth.

Amyway, you got a whole bunch of research dutifully linked for you in this thread. Mostly it's about all you could hope for in making your decision. Drop the side by side thing.

Where did I argue any side. I simply asked for the side by sides the guy claimed so hard were out there. And to be frank, he still hasn't. 1 person stepped up cause everone who wanted to jump in failed. They never had to jump in...nobody was talking to them in the first place. But here we are.
No where did I argue they didn't exist. I simply said where are they based on the dudes claims and assurity.

Did I even say I didn't know where they were? No I just asked for the guy yelling at an old thread from a year ago out of the blue...to put substance to his boast. Pretty simple.
