Btw you sounded like you don't really prefer trims fresh :D . I'll dry them next time i promise.Frenchy you're the man :D .Next time ill use the bags correctly and hit the time on 6-8 mins ? Last solid question,i'llbe making hash in no time :D
I actually prefer fresh trims my friend, the high is very much like my favorite hand rubbed Charas and I am very much into preserving terpenes so fresh or cured but fresh would come first

Usually fresh trichomes need longer spin time, but stay under the 10 minutes for the first spin to see how the trims hold

Thank you very very much mate.Is there an analogy for trim to hash grams so i can see how much time i should spin in the 2nd time ? I've tested Charas 2 years ago in Amsterdam.Man that shit was SOOO nice..

The spin time is not in function of the trichomes collected, the timing is to keep the material as is, the less you destroy the trims the cleaner your water.
You should get anywhere between 10 to 15% result depending on trims quality

Thanks frenchy, i forgot to ad pics with my question.. its been 4 days now, my run with 16 month old larry og, 73 and 45 micron.. so sticky i can't break it up, the 45 literally melted on the plate after 2 days.. not hard to pick up with a knife but as soon as you touch it stick worst than sap !

I would love to get 10%-15% from hash, when I did it I got 5% back lol. It was a really tasty 5% though lol.
if you only getting that much then use the trims to make butter or honey oil. you have tons of goodness left in your plants. 10% is kinda the norm.

I actually used nugs on that run and ya I took it after and made some delicious oil with it lol. I do hope to try it again except maybe with trim not nugs this time.

yeah always run butter or oil after you extract with ice/water. even if you get 10% and then make butter you still get good butter.
DC do you mean the catch bag or ALL the material? and in doing the butter what kind of ratio for example with lightly vaped nugs[aka "Duff" here in snow country] people say to use at least 4 to 1 duff to nugs.

Frenchy, another question occurs to me, when the spin stops, should we wait a few mins to let plant material float up and trics to fall, or drain right away ? which I've been doing

also, an observation, once the trim has reached the bottom it may make sense to raise the hose right away because even though there is water left it will drain through the settled trims it may be better to catch remaining trics "clean" on the next wash.

I'm a moron. All this time I've been feeding that to my worms(which isn't a total waste cause they love it, but still), I never even thought about running those scraps for some butter. Thanks for opening my eyes!

I think making it into butter is more ideal than oil too just because with oil, you really should let the material dry up again before spraying/soaking. With buttery, you can just toss it in! Least your worms are happy though :-)

Yes it is best to wait some before draining and you should drain to the end, catching trichomes "clean" is the name of the game on EVERY wash
