No, I do mean 25% of the reduced amount on the feeding chart for the first week and then 25% of the second week, etc. My theory is that when running DWC the nutrients are there 24/7 for the plants to absorb when needed. Plus when running a proper DWC with recirculation the nutrients will always be mixed and swirling around the roots so it's not like soil where the nutrients can get deposited far from the roots.
awesomeness

first week of veg you use 75% strength on all the additives? I also have DWC

also, what does the multizen actually do? I understand it's like every other zyme product, but should I be using this on a constant basis, or only when things get bad in the res??

this product has very little info about it available online

Yes, I use 75% of all of the additives during the first week and go up from there as needed. The additives, except Shooting Powder, do not affect PPM all that much.

Multi Zen contains vitamins that help with things like breaking down dead root matter and aids in the uptake of nutrients. I use it up until the 3rd week of flower like the feeding chart states.

Here is some better info off of the Canadian H&G website:

Overview

House & Garden Multi Zen is an enzyme based growth stimulant which contains a specific spectrum of enzymes to insure the plants maximum potential can be achieved. Multi Zen consists of a variety of enzymes that perform specific functions that are beneficial to plants.

Some enzymes work to convert the plant’s nutrients to enable greater overall nutrient uptake. Others strengthen the plant’s immune system and aid in the disposal of residuals in the media.
Success Through Design

House & Garden Multi Zen is a powerful growth stimulant made up of a wide variety of useful enzymes, which enable your plants to metabolically exchange their sugars. Enzymes are the small catalysts which trigger these processes and keep them in tune with the plant’s growth rate. Some enzymes aid in the breakdown
of nutrients making them more readily available, whilst others aid in the plants immune system.
There are also particular enzymes which help to dispose of residuals in the plants media. Multi Zen has been favoured by Dutch growers for decades and the results will speak for themselves, to achieve your plants maximum potential, provide them with exactly the enzymes they require.
For Best Results

To enable your plants to achieve their maximum potential, House & Garden Multi Zen should only be used after they are 10 days old.

EDIT: I just noticed that they call it Multi Zyme up there. Weirdo Canadians....:-P

canadian feed chart says to use it until the end of flower!!
Canadian feed chart seems to be pushing for us to use way more nutes than the us one it seems

edit- also multizen here in canada (thats what I got)

Well that's all fucked up how the feeding charts are so different. I am going to stick with the US one because it got me very good results last time. I would rather give them less nutes anyways.

that's what I was thinking, also not going to use the roots excelurator with the shooting powder at the end, that shit is too expensive to waste at the end

Yeah if you don't need RE towards the end then discontinue. It isn't absolutely necessary. I usually use it in a lower dosage, say 25-50% instead of totally discontinuing, but that's just me. It is really expensive I agree with you there.

Look my girls at 19 days into flower with this feed schedule. - total nutrient cost $2.21 per OZ harvested dry bud. So no it's not expensive!!

This is my tweaked regimen, & my girls love it. I got 156 oz under 5 kw 5 ea x 1k W reflectors.
Typical 8 week flower cycle after 6 week Veg cycle using coco in 7 gal buckets 4 plants per light total 20

Veg:
Cocos A & B as per schedule
Roots excelurator as per schedule
Algen extract as per schedule
Drip clean as per schedule
Amino as per schedule
Multizen started 1 week before flower

Flower:

Cocos A & B as per schedule
Drip clean as per schedule
Algen extract for first 4 weeks of flower, then stop
Amino for first 2 weeks into flower, then stop
Roots excelertor 2 weeks into flower, then stop
Multizen for first 3 weeks flower - total multi zen use for 4 weeks
Top Booster as per schedule
Bud XL last 5 weeks as per schedule
Shooting powder last 3 weeks at approx 80% recommended on schedule the stuff is strong

This saves money over the H & G schedule & works fantastic I have 5 grows using this plan & my plants dont burn they just grow big!

Good luck Mate H & G Rocks

Use the multi zen for 5 weeks 1 week before flower till you start the bud XL then stop your girls will love you.
I been using H & G for over 3 years. they keep adding stuff but going back the system works great even without all the additives. Nitrogen boost - useless IMO Roots Excel not needed after 2nd week in flower tried it both ways several times - no difference. Also use the algen extract from start till 4 th week of flower. it's only 1mil / gal & plants love it stay nice & green till they ned to shed leaves at week 4 in flower.

Good luck!

Hello!

Pretty much confused about TOP BOOSTER.

Should I use it for 3-4 days in the FOURTH WEEK before harvest and only than. OR should I use it for 3-4 days DURING EVERY WEEK
of the last four weeks before harvest (feeding 3-4 days with TB and the rest of the week feeding without TB).

First option seems to make much more sense than the second, HOWEVER, thats what the H&G importer in my country told me confidently - use it in every week during the last four weeks.

Any experts in here to be sure either one of those is correct?
Is it even so critical? I dunno, it seems like an issue to me.

Thank you all in advance!

Do NOT keep using it for the last 4 weeks. Use it only once like the instructions say for 3-4 days in the 5th week of flower for 8 week flowering schedule / week 8 for 12 week flowering schedule. Top Booster acts as a trigger for the plant to start doing different things. I don't remember exactly what it triggers but I don't think you will want to keep re-triggering these behaviors once they start. That is why you use Shooting Powder after Top Booster. Shooting Powder is the high PK finisher and you definitely do NOT want to use Top Booster and Shooting Powder at the same time.

If your importer told you to use it for the last 4 weeks he is either stupid as fuck, knows something the rest of the importers don't, or is just trying to get you to buy more Top Booster.

yeah just use top booster for one week. It supposedly will begin the flowering sooner and thats basically all it does, so thats why its not needed for more than 3-4 days in the 5th week of flowering

about the us vs canada feed chart situation heres a quote from a random stranger on another grow forum

If your talking about the USA, H&G has not changed there feed chart in 7 years. I double checked with Rob from H&G and he confirmed. He also explained to me that different countries like Canada for example have thier own modified feed chart recomendation for H&G and that it does NOT agree with the scientist from H&G (like using root excel near the end of flowering and using multi-zen way longer than recomended. The netherlands and the USA have been running H&G the longest (According to Rob)

I guess its up to the end user on who's chart to follow, but just know that the makers of H&G do not agree with these modified feed charts........

The ONLY change that H&G has made in the feed charts in the past 7 years was the change in the dosage of algen extract. And this was due to the increased concentration of the formula which required LESS than the feed chart suggested.
I trust this guy, Canadian feed chart designed to make you use way more than you need

Like the setup. I am working towards something similar in the next few years. I was wondering if you could provide some detail on the dimensions and other particulars of your flowering setup there in these pics.

1. How are you ducting the lights? Are they in pairs or is it all a connected system? If connected what size fan is it taking to push/pull air through all of them.

2. Wattage on lights.

3. In the space itself did you construct a room then line it like that or is it a free standing structure with the reflective materials stretched or attached to it?

4. Temp ranged night/day. Size of exhaust in/out. AC how large? What size is that space?

I know its a lot I have just been working towards a more polished room and seeing that is like seeing the picture I have had in my mind for years to varying degrees. open easy access in a well lit well shaped room that is ventilated correctly. It is inspiration seeing a room setup that way. Whatever info you feel like giving is great. If you already have a journal or whatever using that space could you link it here Thank you.

Hi everybody,

Love HG, now in my 5th consecutive grow with HG. I haven't been on this forum page in awhile, but learned light years from this forum (thank you).

My question is: Are the Canadian charts for actual PPMs the same as in the US? There are several differences between the two charts US/CA. I really like the CA chart and the instructions/advice.
I understand that the composition is different in different countries. I started with Ebb/flow and switched to drip drain to waste and am back on ebb now and need to have a ppm guideline so I want know how to adjust water vs water w/ nutes. using PPM is a good ball park (and looking at your plant).

Is the Canadian Base nute the same strength as in the US? On week 4, for an 11 week strain, the ppms should be 1440 via the CA site. I'm adding H2O and nutes, just guessing, and I'm at 1000 PPMs. Ok Ok I haven't actually changed the res and won't till top booster. I'm working with 5-6 weeks on the same res (ebb/flo). Come top booster time (4 weeks away from harvest right?) I will switch to hand feeding fresh. Plants look perfect now but I want the max... duh.

Anyway, Any knowledge of CA and US charts and formulation's would be most helpful. Thanks!

Anyone growing Chocolope (DNA) or Cotton Candy (Delicious) ?
