What's For Dinner Tonight?

Pork chops and potatoes augarten in small bites. ::?
I had to cut it into bite size mini bites just to eat.

I have TMJ and for the past few days it has been more than normal sore.
Its difficult to get a spoon into my pie hole let alone try and chew well.

Lucky for me there is still some of the home made soup in the fridge.

I have a feeling dinner will be soft foods for a few days.

Could not resist the unintentional reference to my ancestral city. cn

<edit> Sorry to hear about your TMJ. Does MMJ ... ohnevermind.

I tried poi once and experienced traumatic amnesia; I apparently hated it that much. My doc says I'm merely manioc-repressive. Thanks a load, doc. cn

Smoking mostly takes my mind off off of the sore but the sore is still there.
medibles do lessen the sore but it is still there.

the sore is always there. Have you ever sprained an ankle or wrist? If so you may remember what that felt like about 4 days after the sprain and healing has begun. That feeling is what my jaws, yes both, feel like 24/7x365 even on the good days when I eat normal. Most days i eat what ever i please but when it flairs up there is little to do but "grin and bare it"

My wife asked me once about the anger issues that i wrestle with often. TMJ plays a part in my daily stress. The physical discomfort with the psychological stress and on occasion hunger added to the normal daily stress most humans may experience often leave me with a bad attitude.

My wife asked me that years ago. I have never been able to quite explain to her what was in my head. Recently I found a clip that expresses how i feel 98% of the time i am awake.
This is why i stay away from most political and highly controversial threads. If i were to post as often as i think i want to my stay here would not have lasted past the first week.:-?

my girl has a very loud click in her jaw. it happens everytime she moves it too. she needs to get it checked out i geuss!! geez sry to hear about your troubles lokie...

Eating a Johnsonville cheddar bratwurst(not the pre-cooked either). Wash'n it down with a nice Leinenkugel's Octoberfest lager.

Dang, Lokie; I'm sorry to hear that.
I'm guessing you tried sleeping with a mouthguard ... cn

Yes I went to a maxillofacial surgeon and had a mouth guard made.
It was intended to be used only at night, the symptoms were lessened
so i started wearing it all of the time, except for meal time of course.

The TMJ rarely "locks up" now, before the mouth piece there would be
days at a time, 4 or 5 times a year, i would have tears just going to mc d's, the food is not top notch after all, and I would
have to forcibly open my jaw, anyone within 5 feet can hear the POP when I have
to force them apart. Yes tears.

The real FU part is medicine does not thoroughly support TMJ treatment and diagnosis.
Some think it medical ( a muscle and joint issue ) some say its dental (it does effect dental health)
so insurance companies say we only pay X as a lifetime pay out.
I have read online from other TMJ patients the cost can far exceed what
insurance covers.

Treatment is so disagreed upon that there is one group
of folks that say it is in the mind and you can train to not think about it and relaxation
techniques will make it go away. BS! I'll bet those fucks were eating more than pizza for a week straight.
pizza is thin and can get in the pie hole, chewing is slow but the alternative of jello is not filling.

My condition is both jaws and displace both ways.
Does that make me bi bi or just quad? I'm special, at least that's what
they told us when the special bus pulled up.:bigjoint:

Leafy green salad with goat cheese and balsamic dressing, Prosciutto wrapped prime rib, roasted vegetables, fingerling potato's. Dessert was chocolate hazelnut cake. Chased it all with a dozen beers, couple glasses of wine and then repaired to the hotel room with the guys for a fat joint and a big cigar. I love my life.

Sounds like a fabulous meal - uh, . . . How did you break your hotel room & how much work was it to get it repaired ?

Heh, believe me with the people I was with last night it is EASY to destroy a hotel room. One of the ladies in our circle is renowned for ending up nude after a couple of drinks. We're all pretty responsible though. When we left this morning all he maid needed to do was change the linen's.

Its just me for dinner tonight, so I'm doing it up Surf and Turf style! I bought 2 lbs of King Crab legs, which I'm going to boil with a little Old Bay Seasoning, and I have a nice 1 3/4" venison steak cut from the back strap. I figure I'll keep the venison simple, just a little brush of olive oil, and salt and pepper, and melted butter for the crab. I got a 6pk of Leinenkugels Oktoberfest to enjoy while watching football and cooking. Just me and my dog. He gets some raw venison.

I wonder if I'll even get to eating the venison with all that crab? Oh well, it'll be fun trying!

I've never had a venison steak, but reading that made my mouth water. My meal for the night:

I had the honor of cooking the dinner again for my friends. We're smack in the middle of harvest so I chose a menu that would highlight the season. I made grilled pork chops with a raspberry compote glaze. Grilled corn on the cob. Grilled asparagus wrapped with bacon. It was an absolutely gorgeous fall day so grilling outside was a perfect choice. We also had fresh garden salsa with jalapeños and habaneros for a condiment. I made fresh buttermilk bread that was toasted with grated parmesan, garlic, unsalted butter, parsley, and basil. I made boston baked beans in a crock pot that I started last night. Dessert was pumpkin mousse topped with a cinnamon and nutmeg whipped cream. The beverage was Wassail. We had the meal at the fire pit. The stars were gorgeous and the air was crisp but not too cold. I love Autumn!! :D

Damn that sounds good. All i had tonight was blended frozen strawberries and blueberries, oatmeal, 1 TBLSP of peanut butter, nonfat milk and 3 scoops of vanilla AMP.
