What yield do you pull from a 4x4 ?????

Probably around 450w is a fair number for a 4x4.
If you get a light with amazing ppfd map, maybe you could run 600.
After that you really are not utilizing all the light.
Isn't the ppfd map not as important since I'll be using many lights? I know it will be hottest in the middle but I thought it would be higher than that (total watts you would benefit from)

I'm going to make a post here and I'll report back when I'm done. I forget what I've grown before in a 5' x 8'. This is a bigger grow area with a lot of room to the ceiling in a basement. It's unsealed as I got a 10' or 12' stainless tray about 5" deep and 2' wide from a fridge unit a guy was dismantling next door. Has a drain even. I'll make a real grow for next winter. This is 1650 watts. 1400 in HPS, other 250 is Metal Halide. These were all fresher seeds I made from a variety of plants over the last six years. From Clones, seeds, and other plants I made of those, from a $2K seed collection of mostly TGA Genetics. Crossed with clone-only, elite clones, and seed strains of Durban Poison, ChemdawgIV, and Mendocino Purps.

I've pulled over 20 ounces from a 4 x 4 with a cheap Vivosun 600 watt HPS. Much of it is strain dependent. I haven't hit that mark in a long time as I'm not growing for quantity.

Each strain grows differently. You get the occasional freak that decides to take off and outgrow everything in your tent. I had a c99 from female seeds do this last grow. She grew huge and yielded 12oz dried but the other 3 plants didn't yield so well but all yielded 4oz and up. These were grew under 660w of solstrips in rdwc and each bucket is 30l so a 150l system with the control bucket included. Fed megacrop with a little Epsom in veg then p.k added in flower with overdrive weeks 7 and 8.
A kg I think could be easily obtainable in a 4x4 with the right light, grow system and nutrient line

Just above 3 lbs or 52oz with 1200w HPS/MH in DWC. I like to develop a really nice root structure before entering flower. I train and scrog all of my girls.

I most often run 4 plants and I like to veg for a long time. When you have some successful runs and developed some understanding through experience you should look into studying how to use safe PGR's and their role in agriculture.
So I looked at the growjournal you linked below. And I’m still trying to fathom where the 3lbs is? ‍♂

I can hit around a gram a watt with decent yielders, I like 1ks in a 5x5 or 600 in a 4x4. I quit working towards that and stopped doing as much training and can get .75gpw or so.

Hello all !
Me and a friend are looking at different t options for tents and thinking of useing 4x4 tents in different rooms. Be that as it may .... could people share what they have gotten for yields from 4x4 ? Please include what type of light, how many plants, and growing medium please !!! Thank you !

ps
If you’ve only grown in a 3x3 or 5x5, those outcomes are welcome also !!! Thanks a bunch

i get 18-21 oz or so from a 4x4 under a 600 watt hps. I like to run 9 girls in that space

BlackDog has a video of their 1000 version pulling 2.78lbs from a 4x4 with CO2. The 600 version pulled 1.6lbs in the same parameters. It’s not a bad video, shows some of their defoil techniques:

edit: the nets are 4x4, the space is 4.5x4.5, I confirmed.
Age restricted lm over 50 and cant watch video. Lmao!

In a 25sqft area I can do 3/4 of a lbs a plant dried. With co2 and everything optimal I can go over that mark. I generally do 4 to 5 plants in a 25sqft area. It's not impossible but you want everything dialed in and I mean everything. Strains are another variable too remember that not all strains are meant to be high yielding plants.
