What yield do you pull from a 4x4 ?????

For the newbs:

This question gets asked repeatedly on this forum. Everytime you get guys come on and say how they pull crazy numbers, but they are full of shit. Realistically, from a 4×4 tent, you can expect maybe a lb on on your first grow, and slowly working up to 1.5lbs consistently, but anything close to 2 is very good and not common at all. You're limited by the space. If you give the plant room to grow you really can't put more than 4 inside. On top of this you're limited in height by your light hang distance, possibly air filter, and tent ceiling. A 4×4 tent can't handle plants that have vegged for long periods of time because the plants outgrow the space, you just end up having to cut them back anyways, so veg time is really not going to = more yield, it'll just = less plants per tent. Plants become increasingly less efficient as the intensity increases, yield: PPFD is not a linear relationship. If you got 16oz from 900 PPFD, it does not mean you can expect 32oz from 1800 PPFD. If you're trying to determine how many tents, or ft2 of grow space youll need per some yield figure you have in your head, use 1.0 - 1.5lb for every 4×4 area.

Do you have any pictures of your setup with 3# in it? I could believe 2.4 or so, but 3# in a 4x4 is a space/penetration issue as far as I could imagine. 5x5, sure, but I’ve seen 2.5 in a 4x4 and a lot of the bud was larf because the canopy was so dense the light penetration suffered. Would love to see what that looks like though if you’ve got pictures at harvest time.

People who use CO2 will easily reach those high numbers.
Which means that the plants can handle it, also in a smaller room.
Just because you don't succeed in it, it doesn't mean it is not possible.

Space, not light is the issue.

It doesn’t matter what they used, it was in a 4x4 and they pulled 2.78 lbs from one. That’s what the OP wanted and I’m sure I’ve provided a hell of a lot more to him than you and your try hard attention seeking comments.

I’m pretty sure he’s just talking about the total light put out by the fixtures. De hps are 2100, but...inverse square law. And the high light intensity is only right at the center so no plant actually gets that much light unless it’s touching the diodes. Lots of plants reach light saturation and start bleaching around 1k umol.

Best Ive done with a 1000w Hortilux in a 4 x 4 is 2lbs, and that is from an F2 Super Silver haze we went through 250 females to find.

Average s more like 18oz-22oz though. It depends on the time of year. In the summer we have to shut half of everything off because we don't use temp control, and rely on vast amounts of fresh air. But Optimally we can get 2lbs in a mid fall- early-mid spring harvests. Nov-Jan Mar-May. Ours is a 60 days flowering pheno.
We also train out plants to grow horizontally into a forsythia bush style plant. No Topping, and rely on stretch to fill out the canopy. This plant stretches 4-5 times its size in flower. 4 x 4 wide, and 2ft-3.5 foot long branches . Any more than that is not using the light effectively.
This can be done with 1 plant, or 2. Just veg 2 less time. 20 gallons Promix BX soil per plant.

i think to many growers are like fishermen. It was this........................big.
And allot weigh wet and Ive seen people who weigh popcorn and trim. We have all seen numbers from people (myself included) at dry trim, but then they are burping jars or doing something to get the humidity down, so final weight wasnt what was posted anyway.
The numbers per light mean nuthing in a 4 x 4 as there isnt allot of spread like u can have running multiple lights in a room.

I wont run any strain that wont produce 16oz under 1000w Hortilux with a 60 days veg at 24hours a day. And a bunch wont make the list. Some I really like the weed of too. Our F2 Super Sliver Haze will do 2lbs x 1000w Hortilux HPS in the right conditions. Fall-Mid Spring. 4 harvests, then 2 more smaller ones in late spring, and mid summer.

But Dominion Gear wont do 9oz a light with 90 days veg under 24 hours 1000w Hortilux HPS. I cant give up over 20oz on average every harvest.
I can do 11-12lbs a year with the SSH, with the other strains less than 50oz a year. 10lbs vs 50oz??????
