Took down one at 1:00 a.m. Sat morning when it was 28 degrees out, now adorning the sunroom -

Will pray to the weather gods, but all looks good except for maybe the night temps… your 2nd photo seems to resonate. :cool:

Is it true some of the Asian strains and others may have to wait months, like from spring to January or even February ?

I use the 62% Bovedas… but only for long term storage. I don’t use them at all while actually curing (4-6 weeks minimally)… If I need to raise the rh in a jar from my over drying a bit (below 50%), I typically go with a slice of a flour tortilla.

I found a strain on Seedman’s site called “Highland Thai” (Real Seed Company) that offers an 18 week flowering cycle! Like whatttt?? Lol :D

Depends, the South Asian ganja strains from places like Thailand, Laos and tropical India can take like 18 to 20 weeks in flowering, so not much chance of finishing them outdoors in the ground around here. My straggler is at least three weeks if not four behind the other seven girls, so seems like an anomaly to be running so slow. Still very little resin on her and I wonder if much will accrue.

The pic below is a recent one on IG from one of the seed collectors showing plants in Pakistan that have been chopped, sheaved and left outside to get snowed on until they get processed into hash in the dead of winter. They harvest their hashplants in September and October -

Hey there friend, so I'm beginning to become more and more intrigued with the hash process. Back in the day, when hash came through it was considered a special thing. Only certain people had it in bulk, <once had a german friend have a Mercedes shipped over with a trunk full, and I mean full, of beautiful blonde hash> and even though it was hard to find, I remember it was $10 a gram.
Also knew some Air Force guys that would travel, once brought home some Lebanese black hash, striated with opium, same guy brought home some real Thai stick, tied up with a string for what purpose I dont know, I was young then.
Sigh.
Anyhow, cut to 2000 whatever, and thus clown wants to know if I wanna 'smoke some killer hash?
Been so long, after I dealt with my boner, I saw it was Black! So excited!
So dejected. Bubble hash? Wtf? Shit made with alcohol, butane, weird shit.
So disappointed.
I wanna make real hash. Straight rub your hands together and ball it up. I heardsomething about 'hashballs' but, not enough.
I'd love to make a few kilos of actual hash just to last me and family through the winter.
I'm down with the Tirah, hope it fulfills my dreams.

hash is killer ... it's the cream off the top ... once you make good hash you'll never need flower

Well, since I started this thread I'm glad it garnered this much interest.
My use of both Boveda and Boost has been and is largely for longer term storage. 5 gal buckets I'll throw a couple in. Sometimes a Boost on top and Boveda on bottomish or however.
Most people I know dont have bulk cannabis issues. The ones that do use the packets because they work. So you lose a little smell; but dank stays dank. I did start using smaller ones in my quart jars I keep on the shelf for personal and friends. But mostly I do butter these days to save these old lungs, <you'll be there one day> and it's so versatile.
1 tsp butter mixed with raspberry jam on toast is sooooo friggin delicious :hump:

Collect those swollen little pods on the branch / stem and smoke em? I'm just collecting them in a jar and rubbing my finger hash into same jar. This process and product needs a name.
I'll call it Spash. Small pod and hash. Unfortunately I cannot smoke yet, as it immediately distracts from my responsibilities.

I just take a small size tortilla shell and slice it up like a small pizza. That way I can control the moisture in small increments jar by jar. (Of course the goal is not to need them in the 1st place lol) I also use jar size hygrometers (32z wide mouth) I picked up from Amazon to keep a general idea of the increased rh factor and pop the slices out when either they reach desired levels or “wafer” lol :D. Seems it would be scalable to larger air tight lid containers should the yield necessitate it. Always the goal! :cool:
